"The Sandman Hotel is an an excellent position for exploring Vancouver-close to the metro lines and the harbour and shopping areas easily walkable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were a decent size, good WiFi and well maintained. Plenty of good restaurants close by or within a short walk. Moxies was great for breakfast. Overall a great hotel for a stay in Vancouver."

"I spent a weekend at The Burrard and loved its retro vibe that feels far more interesting than a standard chain hotel. My room was small but comfortable, with a great bed and everything I needed. The location was the real winner with the hotel being a short walk to cafes and restaurants, downtown sights, and easy to get around by transit. There’s no pool or gym, and you do hear some street noise (including occasional ambulance sirens) from the nearby hospital, but for a stylish, central, budget-friendly weekend stay, this delivers excellent value."

"The room its self is spacious and clean, they have done a great job on the renovation here. Bed an pillows are very comfortable. The shower is awkward the glass that stops the water from splashing out is less then half the entry space so water gets everywhere, and the main rain shower head didn’t work in my room but was ok I used the other shower head. There is no where to hang anything if you need it even though there is a kind cut out near the bed they could have put hooks and a hanger or two. There is a large gap under the main door into the room so you hear everything in the hallway (Put a towel down there), the windows are thin so all the noise from the street is loud I had to keep the tv on to drown it out. The area is the very last street of the downtown east side drug exposure so you will see it, if you’re not expecting it you will be shocked but as soon as you turn the corner into gastown you won’t see any of it. There is a great French restaurant on the next corner for breakfast and great coffee called Brioche. And gastown is a great place to hang out. I walked @15 minutes to science world to catch the aqua bus(little boat) to Granville Island. It’s very close to some amazing cocktail bars in Chinatown. It’s a good room in an ok location and I may stay again knowing all this. Oh I had an issue with the code they gave me to get in the building, there is a phone number by the door incase you need it and they were very fast to get me a new code that worked great."

"The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very attractive and well maintained. We stayed there because the location is near the concert location. While I loved the hotel I would likely not stay in that exact part of Vancouver if I didn't have an event at bc stadium."
