Bed&Breakfast in a 1795 Log Cabin on working farm, Margaret Baylor-Swoope suite
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (27)
"The cabin is truly unique and amazing. Of more interest is both the history of the buildings and the owner. The details are perfect. The owner is a modern day encyclopedia on the Staunton area, going back to the 17th century. Remote and very quiet, with a farm over 300 acres, which at one time encompassed most of the surrounding area. "

"We pulled in at 5pm and were promptly greeted by Bill (Judie's husband). He checked us in and gave us a brief tour of the building and the farm. Our room was spacious and well appointed, and the bathroom with the slipper claw foot tub was very nice. It was modern but maintained much of the character we appreciate. Breakfast was excellent, and included an impromptu lesson from Bill on (re)construction of the premises. Unfortunately Judie was under the weather, so we didn't get a chance to meet...

The Buckhorn Inn
3.0 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (180)
"We were disappointed with our stay at the Buckhorn Inn. I had called the owner in the morning to let them know of our time of arrival and nobody was there to unlock the door for us. After waiting for twenty minutes we drove to the next restaurant to call them, since there is no cell phone reception at the Inn. Lucky for us, the owner happened to have dinner there but she barely apologized. Decor Is also extremely outdated and the breakfast was very mediocre as well. The Inn is currently for...

"I stayed at this place because it was one of the few places still available in the area. I completely lucked out and had the most amazing experience. Not only was everything cozy and clean but we had almost hte entire upstairs to ourself. We had a spacious bathroom with a tub to definitely write home about, a kitchenette area, a common room, and the bedroom. I definitely got my money's worth and more!"

"Fantastic place for a work retreat, more privacy than I've ever experienced at a rental with acres of woods and a gated entrance. It was unusually hot for June, but there was still plenty of space and activities inside during the mid-day heat. Whether you're into fishing, canoeing/kayaking, sunbathing, campfires, board games, foosball/pool, hiking, or swimming, there are activities for everyone. I took the kayak out each morning to fish, ended up catching a bunch of bluegill and a few small...
