What a wonderful property to use as home base for a group of 18 friends exploring Whidbey Island! The whole experience helped us make some great memories. 5 stars out of five!!!
Beautiful views of the puget sound from the Quintessa! With 3 levels of bedrooms and extra cottage and studio space 28 of us felt well rested and able to re-energize for our family wedding nearby. Amazing kitchen with all that you need to cook for a crowd!
We had a fam/friend reunion of 8 families. Where there were kids between 4-15. We couldn't have had a more ideal home to enjoy eachother's company, play games in the yard, even a dance party in the living room. Very grateful to Tessa and Carrie for sharing their home.
We (a group of 12 adults and 4 kids) rented the large house for a family reunion. With a group this size, the place was perfect for us to spend time together yet still feel like we each had our own space. Kids enjoyed the basement set up and games while adults enjoyed the patio and upstairs living room with a view. Our group’s only concern was the difficulties with the intermittent Wi-Fi. Since only two of us were familiar with Whidbey, it was sometimes challenging to download driving instructions from the property to other destinations on the island. Kitchen was very well stocked and appreciated all the drawers being labeled. It was a perfect place for us to connect and enjoy much needed family time.
Plenty of room for everyone. What a great place! There were lots of pleasant surprises. They seem to have everything you could need. The Wifi and Connected TVs weren’t really up to date when 22 people are in the house. But the Owners who also live on property were quick to address any issues and reset the Wifi when needed. The location is excellent! Close enough to to Langley and to the Seattle ferry. An hour or so north is Deception Bridge and Beach where we saw a Bald Eagle and Fighter jets practicing maneuvers for 4th of July. Highly recommend this place for a family gathering.
One of the best places we’ve stayed in our 25+ years of family reunions. Easily housed our 22 family members from age 3 to 91. We had fun exploring Whidbey’s beaches, tasting rooms, and parks. Cooked dinner every night, including 25 lbs of Penn Cove mussels. Great common spaces.

Family Wedding at the Quintessa
We recently had out small family wedding at The Quintessa and I will start by saying that the grounds are garden are immaculate! It is such a beautiful property and it was magical to have our ceremony in the garden under the arbor. The house is well supplied with kitchen essentials and there was a wonderful closet full of treasures to entertain the kids. That being said, I am not sure this is an "ideal" location for any summer gathering of 20 people or more due to the very strict noise ordinance that requires all guests to be inside with the windows closed by 9pm. It was a hot summer weekend, it is barely dark at 9pm, and the house does not have A/C so it was difficult to find a balance between complying with the strict rules and making sure our guests were comfortable. Due to many intense emails from the hosts leading up to our stay, the noise was top of mind the entire weekend and was a stressor for us. We were not a wild group by any means but it is easy to underestimate the volume of 20+ family members having a wholesome good time, and the early/strict noise ordinance is something that you should seriously consider if you are looking at this as a potential spot for wedding or family reunion, especially in the warm summer months when the sun doesn't go down until much past 8pm.
We had a great, 7 night stay at the Quintessa for our extended family of 17. The house was spacious and very well stocked. The downstairs level with kitchen, bedrooms, bath and dining/living areas worked really well for the children. The hosts were very attentive to our needs and responded immediately to any questions or concerns. The grounds provided space for the children to play and a nice backdrop for our family pictures.
The Quintessa was perfect for our large multi-generational family. We had ample room to play, eat and just hang out. We also reserved the Cottage and Studio, allowing room for those with early bedtimes (little kiddos) or adults needing a nap to step away from the noise. The property itself has a beautiful lawn, and the public beach is just a short car ride away. Everything was so convenient and the communication with the owners was really easy. We hope to return again, because this place is a rare find with room for our growing extended family!
This was our second stay at the beautiful Quintessa.
We chose The Quintessa to host our families for our October wedding weekend. It was perfection! We were a party of 27 ranging from ages 2-82 - everyone was comfortable and had the most enjoyable time. Hosting our guests in one location made it easy to spend time together for meals, drinks, games, visiting and relaxing.
The Quintessa has it all and provides sweet hospitable touches to make you feel at home. As always, Carrie and Tessa are an absolute joy to work with!
Thank you so much!! XOXO
Such a wonderful place with incredible hosts we had to stay twice!
We were fortunate enough to discover Carrie, Tessa and the Quintessa when we were searching for a place to hold my mother-in-law's 90th birthday party. Her wish was to have a place, preferably on Whidbey Island, that would house the entire family , all 28 of us, for the weekend. We could not have found a more perfect spot! 4 generations gathered with space enough for all. The incredibly well-stocked kitchens and dining room made cooking for our gang easy and fun. The grounds and available games made for hours of entertainment. And Carrie was the perfect host, available for consult when needed. She was a fabulous resource! We did have to drive a short way to the beach and into Langley. But nothing was very far. The weekend was just what my mother-in-law had hoped it would be.
The house worked so well for the family that we booked it a second time to house the entire family for our daughter’s wedding. Once again, it more than met expectations!
This was our third time staying at this location. We absolutely love it! We noticed something missing from the home and it was brought to us in less than 10 minutes. Great location and size for our 21 choir members to stay, fellowship, rehearse, and explore. Thank you once again for EVERYTHING!
We had 7 children + spouses, 18 grandchildren and some friends at the Quintessa for 3 wonderful, fun filled days! Beautiful property with plenty of space both inside and out. Everything we needed was on the property. We would all recommend this property!
Carrie and Tessa are very helpful. Family reunion with ages from 2-75 was easily accommodated with activities and interests for all on property and in the area. House is extremely well equipped and organized.
Best place we have ever stayed! Carrie is so wonderful to work with.

Annual Women's Retreat
Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Quintessa and Whidbey Island. With three stories, 2 kitchens and large open spaces, we LOVED our week end and hope to return again - this was our 4th year. And thank you for awesome weather considering it was the end of March this year and not April!!

Very comfortable and welcoming
Our group of 6 had a wonderful time at the lovely Quintessa. We were made to feel very welcome. The house itself is set up to feel like a home away from home, with plenty of space and amenities. Our favorite part of our stay was exploring the trails that wind through the woods behind the Quintessa. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

Spacious and very welcoming home for a large group.
We had our company retreat at The Quintessa. We could not ask of a more perfect location that accommodated all 25 of us. Carrie was able to answer all of our questions, including giving a tour before our reservation date. There were welcome signs, tons of supplies and yummy treats awaiting our arrival. We were able to do all of our meals together upstairs, while the downstairs was set up for the retreat and then a game of Bunco. We didn't have to bring anything. They had all the extra tables, chairs, coffee pots, plates, mugs, and wine glasses! It really was perfect! Thanks, Cassie and crew!

Perfection - from start to finish!
The Board of our nonProfit Organization stayed at The Quintessa for a leadership training retreat and all 26 of us could not have been happier with the house, Carrie and her amazing service, and the entire weekend. The house was emacultaely clean, with details of a luxury hotel like an indivdual set of towels on each bed, coffee, tea, everything. Carrie was wonderful and responsive through the whole booking process and also throughout the stay. She welcomed us and was so quick to bring us anything that we were in need of, but mostly everything you could hope for was already at the house. It was fully equipped and the perfect place for that many people. Incredibly spacious and in a quiet lot out on the island. She was quick to return a few lost and found items too. I'd recommend to anyone!

Grandpa's 70th Birthday and family reunion.
5 days with 5 sons and daughters and their spouses, 10 grandkids from 15-1 yo, 1 brother and sister in law and 2 kids ..all from 5 states. Easy access from Seatac airport was a priority. Terrific time. The big yard entertained the 8 little ones, the teenagers and older kids helped with playtime. Beach and winery tours nearby for some. Treated everyone to the boat tour of Deception Pass..a big hit (along with post triip ice cream). Clamming by one couple and kids. We had 2 dinners full service catered and one food-provided so the girls wouldn't have to cook and cleanup (we brought the rest of the food from a huge Costco run before). We barbecued one night. The house is immaculate (and huge) and the grounds and yard are perfect. It was expensive (since grandpa and grandma were paying the bill) but a thrilling once in a lifetime event in a perfect spot with a perfect spacious home and cottage for all. No negatives at all. Carrie and Tessa are terrific hosts, are out of sight but are readily available if needed.

Family Reunion
Our family reunion at The Quintessa on Whidbey Island was wonderful.
From grandchildren to grandparents, everyone enjoyed it.
We did some touring on the island as well as fishing at Deception Pass State Park.
The huge grassy area provided plenty of room for football, badminton, frisbee throwing
while the two year olds played under the trees.
We cooked most of our meals in the spacious kitchen and the weather was nice enough to
barbeque on the deck.
