    Say hello to The Barn, a fantastic escape styled after a tobacco barn for a classic yet modern touch! Perfect for a romantic retreat or solo writing escape, this adorable escape will welcome you home after full days of hiking, fishing, swimming, and exploring. This home is also perfect for winter getaways (for heavy snow, it may require a 4WD). Not to mention, the firepit on the property will be just the place to reminisce about the fun that was had that day as the stars come out. As soon as you step inside, head up the flight of stairs, and you will find yourself in the cozy studio layout filled with tasteful decor, high-end finishes, and antique furnishings (in addition to a high-end bed).



    Entertainment won't be hard to find with free WiFi and streaming capabilities on the smart TV, so bring your account information and keep up with your favorite shows. And, when you work up an appetite, there's a microwave, mini-fridge, cookware, a coffee maker, and sink to whip up quick snacks and simple meals. The house was in a wonderful location with great views of the lake. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Great for a large group. We had 6 ladies and never felt crowded.

A great weekend stay!

I stayed at The Barn for a work trip I had in Western NC. I really enjoyed my stay and would book this place again! The host was really nice and came and introduced herself to me and made sure I had everything I needed. I would highly recommend The Barn for any single person or couple seeking a lovely mountain getaway!

It is in a beautiful location close to Waynesville and Maggie Valley and many other interesting areas in Western North Carolina. The room is private, the bed is very comfortable and I would highly recommend staying here.

Everything was excellent and entirely as described. Hosts are very thoughtful and have provided all that is needed for a relaxing mountain stay.

Gorgeous mountain getaway!

I stayed here while hiking the nearby trails. The cabin was lovely and I really enjoyed conversing with the owners as well. I’ll definitely be back!

Hot and buggy

The location of this home can't be beat - it is just above Stuart and has a nice porch and good views. We struggled with bugs throughout the home our entire stay. I see this as more of a maintenance issue than the homeowner. We requested the home be treated multiple times but all Vacasa would say is they were looking into it. Anyone coming to Lake J and staying in a Vacasa-managed property will need to be prepared to do some cleaning upon check-in. This home advertises AC, but if you are coming in the summer know that the two bedrooms upstairs will be VERY hot. Be aware that the driveway is VERY steep but does level out at the top. Some of our group was able to navigate it but other vehicles scraped too much or drivers weren't comfortable on the incline. It is right by the admin building though, so it is easy to just park in that lot and walk up.

Great space, location

The Barn was the perfect place to unwind and relax on my recent visit to Waynesville. Easy access to the highway to Asheville, close to Waynesville and the surrounding area. Lots of amenities to make your stay even more relaxing like a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. I would definitely stay here again!

“The Barn” Perfect Relaxing Spot

This quaint little upstairs home is everything you would need. The queen bed and sheets are very comfy! Outside fire pit and chairs offer a very tranquil spot for morning or sunsets! Extremely close to mountain biking or hiking or shops and restaurants! Homeowners are very nice and quick for making sure your stay is perfect. Extremely knowledgeable of area which we found fun and interesting to talk about! Their little piece of heaven (property) was fun to stroll around and explore! We would definitely stay again!
