His name is Rio and he did an excellent job of making us feel welcome and also sharing his rich culture of the Garifuna community. We shared laughs, were told incredible stories about animal encounters, and were treated like family since the moment we landed. The staff at the resort was really helpful, friendly, and gave their best effort to meet all of our requests and answer our questions. We truly appreciate the time we spent there and we hope that the next lucky travelers feel the same. Thank you Bocawina!"

If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for local culture, wonderful people and location then you will have a wonderful time. The bar next door was noisy, which we knew and were warned about but we didn’t mind. We would go back! "
