The location of Hoey Moey could not be better. Right on the beach front. Loved walking the small track over the dunes onto a beautiful beach. No roads to cross. Entertainment provided, great food at the restaurant, pokie room available plus a commercial size kitchen if we wanted to use it. Definitely will be returning to this idyllic spot in Coffs Harbour at an affordable price. Available to all ages.

Noisy but fun backpacker hotel

I returned to the Moey Hoey hotel from having such a beautiful experience earlier that week on a Monday. Again the hoey moey is a lively stop surrounded by amazing natural beauty of the Australia coast

Love the Hoey Moey…

This was always our place to stay on road trips between sydney & Qld. But this last stay we noticed that rooms are very tired & the noise level from other staying guests has become unbearable. So sad as we love ‘Hoey Moey’ for its value for $$, quaintness, location & it’s restaurant/bar especially when there’s live music after a day of driving! Service is always great & housekeeping do an excellent job… We will be back when the curtains have been replaced & rooms have had a fresh coat of paint 🙏

Make sure you research before you book. We stayed two nights, Run down unit needs a lot of repairs, for what we paid it wasn’t good value at all. No microwave, no glasses, holes in rubber back curtains, how does a backpacker afford this I do not know..

I have stayed at the Hoey Moey in the double rooms several times over the last few years and loved my stays, it's right on the beautiful park beach, food's great, staff are excellent, but this time we got a backpacker's room and it was third world, terribly disappointing and a bit depressing, and the kitchen facilities were very grubby. We ended up leaving and had a fantastic experience at the big4 at Park beach. I'm still waiting and hoping I will get a refund of some description.

As this is back packer accomodation it’s very small and basic which is fine however it’s also very dated and had flaking paint on the ceiling, black mould in the bathroom and filthy windows. The publicans for the pub owned by the accomodation park in the backpacker carparks leaving you know where to park your car and making a lot of noise right outside your door. When we enquired about this with the staff they were less than helpful.

False advertising

This hotel engaged in false advertising. When I made my reservation, the receipt stated that "don't worry, you will not be charged until check-in", or something to that effect. However, my credit card was charged 6 days prior to check-in and the hotel refused to reverse the charge.
