Treated like royalty in Coimbra

Amazing small scale hotel with excellent service and perfect location to enable walking to all Coimbra has to offer (and that’s a lot). Note: the hotel has historical significance.

Great view. Easy walk to the city. Comfortable room. Staff was friendly. Slight issue with the balcony door seeping rain water but that was mitigated immediately.

The property is in a great location for walking to the University. It was in a cool old house. We enjoyed the fun, "University" vibe of the decor. The staff was great. Emma was a particular delight--very helpful and full of useful information & recommendations. The breakfast buffet was great with many options. It was served on the top floor with nice views and an outdoor patio for nice weather days. The one thing that we would change would be the numerous, plug-in air freshener/frangrances in our room. There were at least 5, and the smell was overwhelming upon arrival. We just gathered them up and put them on a table outside our room and replaced them when we checked out.

Isabel and Ema gave us a really warm welcome. We got an upgrade. The room was son meticulously arranged and the building is tastefully decorated. The terrace has a lot of seating and a wonderful view of the city. Breakfast was delicious and the stay just perfect, so quiet. Bed top notch. Thank you, Isabel!

Exceptionally kind and helpfull hosts. Breakfast with not very many options, but all the basics covered and featuring excellent fresh bread and expresso, served on a roof-top terrace with amazing view. Bathroom newly remodeled, super clean and modern. Very safe residential neigborhood with free street parking. Minuses include quite narrow bed (twin) and relatively small room. Also, be aware that there is no elevator and there are already quite a few steep steps to climb before the main entrance.

Loved the rooftop terrace, room was small but we had a room with a couch right outside our door and lots of room on the rooftop overlooking the city, highly recommend. Staff was great and very helpful.

Great stay for our one night stopover

Cute little boutique hospital. Stayed with my family of six for one night. Kids loved that we all slept in bunk beds in the family room. It’s small (the family room) but we were only there one night and there is plenty of cute space to hang out outside the room.

This was one of the most beautiful places to stay in Portugal. Excellent facilities, amazing breakfast and service, rooms clean and well appointed, and walking trails directly across the streer. Walking distance to many restaurants and delivery to hotel quick and inexpensive. Cannot reccomend enough. Decorated artistically and was a dream to stay in. You will not regret, cannot wait to visit again. The views offered cannot be beat.

Very good

Really very nice. Just outside the centre and old quarter but easy enough to walk. Parking isn’t private. It’s in the road but easy enough and close enough. I would say a very safe area. Breakfast was on the roof terrace (or inside). Very nice. Decent enough selection. Continental style. Very nicely presented. Room was fairly small but totally sufficient. Bed too hard for me but ok for my husband. We are all different. Very good pillows and linen. Very clean. We walked to a good restaurant. Papa. Quiet at night time.

This property is in a nice neighborhood up on the top of the hill near the university. The views are very nice and the suites are very large and comfortable. Parking is on the street and is safe overnight. A breakfast is supplied and is located on the top floor with inside and outside seating from which to take in the views. The staff are very helpful and informative. We left our car parked on the street and walked all over, occasionally taking an Uber back up the hill. I would highly recommend the suites in this property.

Recently renovated, tastefully decorated & charming small inn converted from a historic merchant's house, about 15 minutes walk (uphill) from the University historic district. Free parking, fabulous breakfast is included, served on the top floor with a covered patio offering stunning views of the city & beyond. Staff was super-helpful, and very kind. An excellent value--we loved staying there. One downside: the building is not accessible if you are unable to climb stairs, or have mobility issues. (One flight up to get into the building, two more flights up to the breakfast room from there, and there is no lift.) Also, we were surprised to learn that the hotel management does not support recycling, though it's mandatory in Coimbra. The hotel does not provide collection bins & so they just throw out all clean bottles, cans & paper. Other than that, it was great!
