The house is an old stone and timber built barn which is surrounded by forests and completely self-sufficient and ecological. It is heated by wood-burning stoves, lit by solar-power and water is provided by a spring in the grounds. A tribute to sustainability in the middle of an unforgettable landscape and forests as far as you can see….

Eco Friendly and Remote

Other guests did a great job of accurately reviewing the property so I'll spare you the need to read the same thing. What I will say is that staying here required us to unplug from the world a bit as it was very remote and the connection to the outside world via the internet/cell service was very limited. So we did what we came there to do, wich was UNPLUG, EXPLORE and RELAX as a family. It is still very important for any future guests to know that saying this place is remote is no understatement as it sits atop a mountain and takes a bit of effort to get there with your vehicle (a major plus is having an SUV for higher ground clearance). But the views are amazing, house is cozy and owners welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our time there as did our 4 legged family member.

Fin de semana espectacular! 100% recomendable. Una casa enmedio de la naturaleza sin ruidos, oyendo pajaritos, oliendo aire puro. La casa está muy completa. Sin duda repetiría.

Spectacular!

This is a beautiful home and fantastically private location. If you are looking for privacy, quiet and a transformative experience, this is the place for you. We have truly never stayed in a more beautiful or special place in all of our travels. Too many wonderful amenities (fireplaces, hammocks, hiking trails, etc.) to list them all. Pepona and Jordi were helpful and kind and they have lovingly restored this home to its full (and ecologically responsible!) glory. Please do request the whole property when you book if you want total privacy during your stay. Thank you Pepona and Jordi, we do hope to visit again some day!

Rustic Relaxation deep in the Lleida Countryside

La Pegatera was the perfect way to finish off our two-week stay in Spain: rustic, relaxing and magical. Roomy and comfortable for our family of four, we enjoyed three days of reclining in hammocks, paddling in the spring-fed pool, eating meals in the stone poolside cabana, and walking the numerous trails surrounding the property. My son & I also spent a day fly fishing on the River Segre about an hour away (large finicky trout in a pastoral setting). We loved sitting out at night and watching the sun set over the expansive mountains, watching the sky come alive with stars, not another sign of civilization anywhere in sight. Wild boar called out to each other in the forest and small bats nabbed insects overhead. If you go: do your grocery shopping in Coll de Nargo or another town before you set off on the winding mountain road toward the property (it's a half hour from civilization). Bring drinking water as well (the water in the cabin comes from rain-fed springs, and has not been certified potable). My family's taste runs toward the rustic and natural, so La Pegatera was pure heaven to us. If you are a Waldorf or Four Seasons type of traveler, please be aware, this is authentic country living. The owners, Pepona and Jordi, were highly responsive and helpful leading up to our trip. Jordi met us at the property, made sure we understood how everything worked (the home is solar-powered and entirely off the grid), graciously enduring my rusty French. We can't wait to return.

Trés bon séjour

Lieu trés agréable et très très tranquille . Nous sommes au milieu de la forêt et des montagnes avec pour voisin les oiseaux et la nature. Lieu idéal pour faire un break , des ballades à pieds sont accessibles à partir de la maison . La piscine est très sympa même si à l'époque ou nous y sommes allés ( avril) c'est encore un peu juste pour se baigner tous les jours. Prévoir le ravitaillement car ensuite on n'a plus trop envie de ressortir et il faut faire quelques kilomètres pour accéder à la civilisation. Pepona et Jordi sont très agréables .

Amazing peace

A delightful property in the wilds of the Pyrenees with the nearest neighbours out of sight over a hill. Hot in the day, cool at night because of the altitude, and very comfortable. It is an eco house but is very comfortable. There is much to explore on foot, but you are a bit away from civilization so day trips take a little longer. The road to the house is rough. We got away with a CMax which grounded a couple of times but a 4X4 would be more comfortable. Geordi and Pepona are delightful and helpful hosts and the welcome is warm! I thoroughly recommend it.
