“Freedom Ridge Cabins is the perfect place for a quiet, picturesque getaway. The cabins are individually named and are tiered up the mountain. Each cabin has a parking area, a small back deck with a picnic table, and a fire pit with seating around it, perfect for marshmallow roasting after dark. The cabin we stayed in was perfect for our needs. ”

“The location was perfect as a home base for day trips to Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park and great hiking in Custer State Park. Management very responsive. Great to have both drip coffee maker and Kuerig.”

“This was the perfect place for a 2 day stay while we explored the region. 15-minute drive to Mt Rushmore or Crazy Horse. Hill City was a very nice town for exploring. Great wineries and breweries less than a mile from the property. Hot tub was very relaxing at the end of the day. Had all the extra kitchen accessories you can image. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.”

“We loved staying at this nice little cabin. The pictures were slightly deceiving as far as the inside size of the cabin goes. It was very quaint, but we did like that it was furnished with everything we needed.”

“We were out and about most of the time, so mostly just sleeping, which was excellent. With 3 bedrooms and a large living room sofabed, there was no shortage of space. Wifi was very nice to have. The marina store below is WAY nicer than I ever imagined. The view and access to the lake was amazing. I dont think there is a better location for this price in the hills. I would definitely stay here again! Only 2 minor dings, low water pressure so showering wasn't great, and extra charge for using……

“Stayed 2 nights. Wanted to be close to the Badlands. It was a little snug. Snacks were appreciated. Was easily able to get room supplies restock. Very limited dining option. An outdoor sitting area would be nice.”

“Our stay at this property lasted all of about 30 minutes before we tapped out. From the front door, we walked down the steps into a dingy basement hallway with three identical, unmarked doors. We could hear somebody on the left, so we tried one of the other two doors at random. The door to the front door unlocked our door, and there was no dead bolt on our door. That makes me think that anybody that could get in the house could get in our space, so we felt really unsafe. Additionally, the place……

“Ghost Canyon Getaway was one of the greatest places I’ve ever stayed. The hosts were phenomenal, incredibly kind and warm. They offered me Easter dinner and company and ensured I had everything I needed for my long weekend away. The location was gorgeous and I am looking forward to going back as soon as I can.
