Surprise Getaway

Birthday weekend in Confluence
Great house. Super clean and beautifully decorated. We couldn’t have ask for anything better for a birthday weekend away. We were a little early in the year to enjoy the Lucky Dog Cafe, but we enjoyed exploring the area. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Kara.

Thank you for the review! Glad you found everything to your liking. Lucky Dog Cafe and the other restaurants usually open around the start of trout fishing season (mid April) through beginning of May. We lost some year round restaurants during covid, but rumor has it that there is one in the works. And Confluence just got a distillery--doesn't help with dinner, but businesses are popping up.

Perfect getaway!
Perfect place for a weekend get away in the mountains! It was a girlfriend’s weekend and we realized we stayed in this house back in 2012 for a bachelorette weekend! We will be back!

Fairy Escape - Perfect secluded getaway for you and loved ones + dogs
The location of the cabin is an absolute fairy escape. From the gorgeous cliffside and surrounding forest, to the bumbling brook, the stone patio and porch overlook, the indoor decor is tasteful and they really did have everything you could need. Plenty stocked on kitchen essentials (and extra like a boil pot/crock pot), toiletries, and soft towels. We had a blast exploring local hiking trails, Ohiopyle. A few shops/restaurants closed for the season, re-open in April, how ever found a shop where I got a Amish handmade leather satchel for only $34. The host is so kind, responisive, and absolutely saved my life by finding a lost camera memory card that we coudnt even find before departure. I highly recommend and I honestly cant wait to return myself during summer season and stay here with this host again.

New Year's Getaway
Our New Year's retreat at the Yough Treehouse was truly wonderful. Kara's responsiveness and accommodation made the experience exceptional. The hot tub by the river was a highlight, providing a serene escape. The spacious rooms were perfect for our family, and ownership's thoughtful touches, such as the high chair and pack and play, made it incredibly accommodating for our infant son. A highly recommended getaway for families seeking comfort and relaxation.

So peaceful
We loved the treehouse. Not only was it meticulously clean, but all the furnishings were comfortable and the tiny details were so appreciated. The string lights are so pretty at night, and the river sounds lulled us to sleep at night and were the first things we enjoyed with our morning coffee. This was the perfect getaway for us and our dog. We could all our meals at the house and had everything we needed. During the day we discovered that there are a lot of places to explore nature nearby, and next time we would love to bring our bikes to explore the GAP.

Church friends (age 70) needed a get away.
The house was comfortable and well equipped. Very good location convenient to beautiful Ohiopyle and Fallingwater. We hiked the trails at Ohiopyle to many beautiful waterfalls. Cucumber Falls was our favorite. Hiking to Cucumber Falls from visitors center along river was gorgeous with fall foliage. Thank you.

Lovely home on the water
Very quiet, relaxing, and convenient to Falling Water and Kenuck Knob. House is really clean and the grounds are lovely. The hot tub and fire pit are a huge plus! And the view is priceless! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Cozy and Private Home Excellent Location
The Treehouse was just what we were looking for and it did not disappoint. The home was cozy, comfortable, and clean, with everything we needed. From the well equipped kitchen, the great hot tub and fire pit, views of the river, peace and quiet, and close proximity to the bike path and a nice town. We look forward to returning in the future.

Excellent Laurel Highlands getaway
The house was great and listing is accurate. This is located in Confluence about 10 miles from ‘downtown’ Ohiopyle. Confluence sits on the edge of Ohiopyle State Park so the house provides great options to visit downtown and to also experience other parts of this beautiful Park if you have only visited the center (which was the case with us). Lucky Dog Cafe is walkable from the house and had great food and cold beverages. Dog friendly too! Just like the Yough Treehouse. This was our first vacation away with our hound and we’re already looking forward to planning the next one! Thank you, Yough Vacations, for making our trip easy and comfortable!

Peaceful bliss
We we’re very happy with the Treehouse. From sitting on the back deck watching the river with your morning coffee to a very nice fire pit and a wonderful hot tub to end your day. Private setting but very close by to kayaking, hiking, a cute little town and only about eight miles from Ohiopyle. The house was fully equipped with everything you could need with sweet added extras you don’t see in most rentals. We had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again. I don’t just recommend the house, the owners are very accessible and helpful. We actually were able to stay an extra day that made it even better.

Great stay in Confluence!
Beautiful home! Quiet setting. We enjoyed our stay. Hot tub along the river is ideal for relaxing, as is the deck and outside eating. Home was very clean and met our expectations. Water cooler for drinking was appreciated. Thanks for sharing your home!

Memorial Day Vacation
We had a nice stay at the Yough Treehouse. It’s in a quiet area but close enough to main attractions such as Ohiopyle state park, Fallingwater, covered bridges and Johnstown. The dead end road the house is on, and the closeness to the Great Allegheny Passage trail make it an ideal place to walk your dogs and take a walk with kids. Note that the road sign for River Road is not at the end of the road as you would expect but anyone using a GPS will find it just fine. Definitely a place we would love to revisit in the future.

Fathers Day Getaway
We had a wonderful time! House was clean and well stocked with essential items. Loved the location. Very close to the bike trail and Yough Dam. The Lucky Dog Cafe, just down the road, was great too! We will definitely be returning. Thank you for caring for your property and sharing it with others.

Great Place with a Great View and Location
The Treehouse was an amazing place, right by the river, with an amazing view. It is relatively close to everything you would want to see/do, and it has the added benefit of being in a very quiet location. Truly an escape. The place has virtually everything you could need for a getaway.

Yough River - Excellent Stay
The Yough Treehouse was exactly as described. The house was very clean and the location was excellent. Proximity to the bike trail is super close. The hot tub, fire pit, and outdoor accommodations were a great addition to the stay. My 10yr old loved the loft!! Kara, the host, was very communicative and made check-in very simple. She also was very quick to reply to any and all communication. This place was awesome and we'll definitely be back!

Great getaway spot
Two of my friends and I take long weekends twice a year to get together and do whatever we want (e.g., hike, watch Jane Austen films/other British or period pieces, read, talk). Yough Treehouse was a perfect spot for us. It was pretty central for us (Cleveland, DC and Columbus) and remote so that we could enjoy nature while still being close to civilization. The house was quaint but big enough for us each to have our own space, and the kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and appliances we wouldn't have expected (blender, crock pot). It was the perfect getaway.

Beautiful Place Near River and Bike Trail
We stayed four nights and totally relaxed. We had no expectations of doing summer stuff…but we did relax, hike and play family games. The house was set up beautifully for one family or perhaps two couples. The deck was loved by our dogs, and on our last afternoon, we even sat outside to enjoy a drink. Thank you for maintaining such a lovely home. The home is at the end of a short road with no traffic. We found this house to be very, very private.

Very nice, but...
Nice house, nice location but a couple gotchas for us. GOOD: very comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen and great view. NOT GOOD FOR US: stairs everwhere - main level bedroom is up 2 steps and the deck is multi-level plus the only place to sit around the table and visit with friends is on the deck which doesn't work well in the rain. NOT GOOD FOR ANYONE: mice! We also got a nasty surprise when we stripped the beds and found an *extremely* nasty mattress pad.

We are terrible sorry to hear that you had issues with the Treehouse. Regarding the stairs, I would like to clarify because I don't think that "stairs everywhere" is very accurate. The house has no stairs to enter the main floor (full bathroom, kitchen, living room) and none to access the deck from the inside. Of course there are steps up to the deck if you enter from the side yard. There is a step up to a landing from the main floor to the 2 bedrooms. And steps to the loft space. Regarding the mice and mattress pad, all is taken care of. The mattress pads were almost brand new but we did find 1 stain on 1 and it's been replaced. The Treehouse does not have a dining room or a great spot for a dining table. The island bar is great but we do have a folding table and chairs in case guests would like to sit at a table. Mice are unfortunately a problem in the mountains in the woods this time of year. We are extremely proactive about keeping them out and we have a service that comes as well. We just discovered that when we had some work done in the basement that the contractor didn't seal up an access panel and they must have come in. It's no longer an issue and we are very sorry that you experienced this. I wish you had contacted us during your visit, as we would have taken care of everything-- but the stairs.

Weekend Getaway
Everything about this place will keep us going back there as much as we can! Picturesque!
Beautiful setting and great rental! Just a couple suggestions…in our 60’s; the claw tub has no grab bar nearby so slipping in the tub that has no rubber bath mat was a concern. Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans, but not a single one was non stick, making cleanup a bit more of a chore. Perhaps invest in one large and one small non stick? Perhaps I am spoiled…

Great property
It was clear the owners take pride in their property. Great house, very clean and private. Kara was very quick with all communications. Very close to Ohiopyle, Yough river/lake and GAP. We wish there was a way to access the river at the property, but there were places very close by you could. It was a great stay. Thank you!

Prefect getaway in the Woods!
Our group consisted of two couples - we had such a fun and relaxing long weekend at the Treehouse. After biking two different sections of the GAP trail, it was wonderful to come back to the house and hit the hot tub. Enjoyed a nice dinner at River's Edge one night. Otherwise we cooked in - the house and kitchen are fully stocked with everything you might need. Plus a lovely location in the woods overlooking the river!

Perfect home in an unmatched location
First impression when entering the Treehouse is "good vibes." The home is inviting and warm yet still crisp and clean. Little touches like whole bean coffee and coffee grinder and extraordinarily comfortable beds combined with a serene location made every minute of the weekend relaxing and enjoyable. The back of the home is dominated by the sights and sounds of the Yough and the charm of the river wild life. The deck must be the best viewpoint of the Yough in the whole Laurel Highlands. That same river peacefulness serves as the backdrop for the firepit and the hot tub. Once you stay here, nothing in this area will match your experience. The secluded location of the Treehouse that is walking distance to amazing biking/hiking trails, in a town, Confluence, that is quaint, yet full of outdoor activity opportunities without the excessive commercialization that has overtaken Ohiopyle, will leave you shaking your head that a getaway to this home was nothing short of perfection. The last morning was spent with a hot tea on the deck at the firepit with a crackling fire that mingled with the river sounds to pierce the otherwise uninterrupted peacefulness of this home. Thank you for sharing this treasure.
