“It was refreshing to stay somewhere with such individuality rather than the usual chain hotels. Beautifully furnished throughout, with fabulous attention to detail, so much to look at. Breakfast was excellent, a good range of continental and cooked choices, with local ingredients. Slightly outside the village, they provided a chauffeur service to and from any of the restaurants in the evening in their electric Mercedes minibus. “Karen is a brilliant hostess. She welcomes you into her beautiful historic, unbelievably cosy home, some of which dates back to the days of Tudor. The rooms are spotlessly clean and warm. The full English breakfast is substantial and very tasty. It is well posted, being only a 5 minute walk from the lakeside and a two minute walk from the bus stop to Keswick or Workington. I will definitely be going back.”

“We'd been walking all day, so really appreciated the lovely warm, snug room with armchairs positioned to admire the lovely mountain views and the selection of hot drinks provided. Bathroom really nice with a big bath (and plenty of hot water) and walk in shower. We headed to the Badger Bar, about 1km down the road, for a lovely meal. Breakfast was fabulous - good selection of cereals and fresh fruit salad, then either a generous full cooked breakfast or smoked salmon and eggs. Would stay again. ”

“The B&B is in a great location in Ambleside. The staff were very friendly during check in and out. The room was nice and tidy and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was really good the following morning and filled us up for the day. I would highly recommend.”
