The house was very dirty.

This house has a great location. Close to the beach, plenty of room. But it was extremely dirty. To start with the kitchen cabinets had food spills all over them, fronts of appliances were full of fingerprints, windows dirty, locks on some sliders didn’t work, rugs are old and dirty, lights that don’t work. I thought I had gotten a cold while we were there to the point where I left a day early only to discover that the filters on the AC had not been changed in probably years. Full of dust and mold. Stay away from this place.

Family getaway

We enjoyed our stay very much and the house served all our needs. The hot tub could have been cleaner and the deck railing were in the process of being repaired and therefore unsafe in some areas.

Spacious with good location

Easy to book and good communications with VRBO; loved pool area; spacious for our large ( 17) family! Didn't care for stained carpet flooring, and 2 beds were uncomfortable.

Very nice overall

The house has plenty of room for everyone and the location and views were good. The interior of the house was clean however there were a few maintenance issues that a guest log book inside would be beneficial. The outdoor bar area was not cleaned at all.

Great layout, could use some updating

The layout of this home was PERFECT for our large family. However, there was definitely an overall feeling of being "run down." The freezer door didn't shut properly, the hot tub jets didn't work correctly, a dishwasher leaked, the volleyball space was so overgrown we couldn't use it, the pool area was much rougher than pictured, there was nowhere to sit on any of the decks except for a few broken plastic chairs. The location was wonderful, and the outdoor shower felt clean. If this property received some updates, I would stay again.

This house should be called “The Great Disappointment or What NOT to View in Corolla!

The house was beautiful from the outside but had major problems on the inside. First off the WIFI did not work. The WiFi code and password they gave us wasn’t even listed. It had every other “Spectrum….” except the one that we were supposed to connect to. The TVs only ran on WIFI so that meant that not one of the ELEVEN TVs throughout the house worked! Which was a MAJOR BUMMER! I reached out to the property manager and did not receive a response until the next day by email. All they asked was did I get it working? I said No! Please help and never heard another word from anyone for the duration of my stay. The house was extremely cold in certain rooms. Uncomfortably so! The fridge had a broken drawer and there was water damage under the kitchen sink. The utensil drawers were warped on the inside and one of the bottom cabinets had a missing magnet that would have kept it closed. There was also the nightly infestation of some type of flying bugs that looked like mosquitoes only slightly large. The house also did not include a sensible labeling system. We didn’t find the irons until the last day because they were in a random closet in a random bedroom that didn’t get used. The ceiling fan in one of the king rooms did not work. The vacuum cleaner did not work. It just felt a little underwhelming and uncomfortable. I would recommend putting your money to better use and staying elsewhere, It’s just not worth the hassle.

Several issues with poor maintenance and uncleanliness

There were over 12 issues involving poor maintenance, broken furniture, trash and clutter on the property, one safety concern, certain appliances were not working and/or worn out, several sink drains were not draining, decks needs maintenance/upgrade, other. Yet, the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean upon arrival. The house location to the beach was excellent. And the design of the house was great (but now needs work/upgrade).

Not as it appeared, would not recommend

Unfortunately, this property was very dirty, inside and out. There was garbage everywhere outside, hot tub was so dirty we couldn't use it, outdoor grill was disgusting. Inside of the house smelled, carpets were dirty, kitchen was dirty, bathrooms were dirty, showers didn't drain, dirty towels hanging on doors when we arrived, looked like sheets/pillowcases were never cleaned they were covered in stains and smelled. We were extremely disappointed in this property.

Great location and activities for everyone

For the first time in more than 15 years, my extended family (made up of kids and adults of all ages) got together for a beach vacation , and this house provided a perfect place to make new memories, with activities for everyone. The beach was less than a 5 minute walk; the pool area and bar were clean and spacious; we enjoyed the volleyball court and grill; and there was plenty of room for everyone. My family and I really enjoyed this house!

Good Family Vacation

Property is decently priced for the area and provided a lot of room for our family. There is some repairs that need to be made, and cleanliness and overall property landscaping that needs to be improved. Communication was good with the property managers when we did encounter some issues.

FAMILY FUN

First time in Outer Banks and chose this property for many reasons. It was great for our first family get together in a couple years. The property was a little beat up and/or apparently not tended to in some time and the pictures on here are definitely older BUT overall with the property management team our stay was full of family fun, laughs and enjoyment. I would recommend it!

Little bit of Heaven in Corolla, NC

It was perfect for our family of 17. All grandkids loved the ocean, only a short walk to the beach. The pool was a hit, also. Safe, comfortable, and kitchen well stocked with dishes and cookware. Close to grocery and restaurants. Wonderful trip.

Huge house with great amenities near beach.

The house offered everything we needed for a great week in OBX. It was very clean and even amid a global pandemic we felt that it was cared for as if it were our personal residence. Lots of deck space allowed us to time outside and the view from the widow’ watch way great for sunrise and sunset. You can see forever from up there! The railings on the deck, however, did not feel secure and I was very cautious not to let the kids go on the deck without an adult. The pool was one of the largest I’ve seen in a rental like this and it’s location by the hot tub, tiki bar and outdoor bathroom and shower was perfect. Let’s of bedrooms and different bed configurations worked well for our family I only wish I had know how small the bathrooms and especially the showers were before arriving. Some of the showers were only 2.5’ across and made it very difficult to shower.

Great House and Location

Great house for our large group, including a bunch of teenage boys who "occupied" the lower level. We made great use of all the amenities, including the volleyball court, pool and hot tub. The beach was just a short walk away. Plenty of chairs and tables at the pool, plus lots of beach chairs for the beach. We would definitely consider staying at Terrapin Station again if we ever get back to the OBX!
