Great property! Close to everything!

This was a great property that was conveniently located so close to everything in town. There were four main sections that each had their own fridges and living spaces, which was perfect for balancing the needs of different groups in our family. Check-in and out were a breeze and the host had excellent communication. Will definitely rent from this property management group again!

Relax and refresh

This is an amazing place to stay with friends and family. The layout is pretty cool, it’s like four condos under one roof. It worked so well for our group and gave everyone more privacy. Each room has its own bathroom which made it so nice. Everything was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

Xmas Vacation

The separate living areas were very nice. We had teenagers up to 70 y/o so the different areas were very convenient. Close to beach and a nice walk. Property management addressed our concerns quickly. The living room furniture was soiled and some of the beds were either broken or uncomfortable. The property could definitely use a thorough cleaning.

Awesome spot!

This property was perfect for myself, my husband and several of our friends. The bedrooms were mostly separated into their own units with at least one bathroom and a kitchenette which was a fantastic set up for us. Beach was only a short golf cart ride away and the main kitchen/house had everything we needed to gather as a group for mealtimes and evening times. Highly recommend!

Family get together

The property was wonderful for everyone having their own space but still having a large area for everyone to gather. We loved the pool. It was perfect for small children with a shallow end that they can stand up in and steps on both end and in the middle. We loved all the areas that the family could gather outside and the large living area inside. We will definitely book the house again.

Great house

The house was great, I was surprised cause we all had separate little houses but functioned good. The pool was awesome to have. The only thing was no beach toys and if they were in the garage there were no instructions or keys to access them. Overall great stay and location.

Beautiful Home

Beautiful home! We were so comfortable during our stay. We had a couple of rain days so being comfortable was important! The living/kitchen/dining room was spacious and comfortable. There isn’t direct access to the beach, but we were really close via car and/or golf cart. The kitchen was nicely stocked. We cooked several times during our stay and we had everything we needed (even for a large shrimp boil). We enjoyed our stay!

Port A 2024 Fam

If you are in need of a house with four separate living quarters this is the perfect place. We had 7 individuals and 2 dogs. The 2 dogs needed to be kept separated but the house layout allowed the whole family still socialize in the common living room. The manager was responsive to our needs. 5 of the 7 of us are over 70 years and the elevator proved to be helpful for luggage. We will definitely keep this house on our favorites list.

Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house worked out well for us with the separate areas as well as a large enough area to gather together. Our family ranged from age 4 to 68. The kids loved the pool it was just right for them. We enjoyed our stay at Hakuna Matata and plan to come back again. House was as described and check in and check out was easy and efficient.

Perfect place for multiple families

Perfect house for a multiple couples and a couple with kids. 4 different units with a main house for everyone to be together. Beds were comfortable and amenities were good. Kitchen needs to be reorganized but that might just be my OCD! There’s an elevator to bring all your things up and down the stairs. We only used it for our initial arrival and departure and was thankful for it. Location is good and neighborhood was quiet. Will stay at this location again.

Extended Family Getaway

Property layout was perfect with rooms set up like mini apartments with kitchenette and bathrooms for each. Only a short golf cart ride to the beach. Elevator didn’t work upon arrival and even after a maintenance call was never operational. Garbage in outside can had not been emptied in some time. Pool was a great bonus after being at HOT beach all day. Would stay again when bringing a large party.

Memorial Weekend

I’ve been going to Port A since the 70s as a kid. What a great place and what a great house. The location is close to beach access and not too far from all the shops. Get the golf cart if you want to explore without loading up in the car and enjoy the air. Every room was self sustainable and very comfortable. The main room and kitchen were spacious enough to accommodate our party of 10 and out door seating added to the fun of meals prepared onsite. Plenty of driveway parking to avoid violating fire lanes painted in the cul-de-sac. Pet friendly with upper deck locking gate so the fur kids can’t wander down the stairs. The pool area is also enclosed.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed the rental. It was clean and in good condition. The heater on the pool did not work for most of our time there. However they did refund the extra we paid for having the pool heated. By the second to last day the pool cleaning crew came to clean it and after that the pool started to heat. The only other draw back was the TV system needed some sort of instructions to operate and every one of them was different.

Great Setup

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place was very nice, clean and well equipped. Still has cleaning ladies there at 4 pm but left shortly after. Garbage was full outside and smelled terrible. I believe it was emptied in 2 days. Microwave didn't work and they brought us one that did. I would recommend having someone renail the nails on the upstairs breezeway. Someone could hurt their feet on protruding nail heads. Still a great rental

Family Getaway

Each room is separated so the young adults could be away from the older folks if they are staying up later. House was clean and well stocked. Corn hole and pool were a great addition. The main floor bedroom had a pull out couch, there was plenty of space for our party of 11, and still had a couple empty beds. The elevator did not work the entire time we were there, the maintenance office had to order a part. If you are relying on it be sure to ask if it is working before you go.

Together yet separate

We absolutely loved this house. It was clean and each room was like its own little apartment with a stove, fridge, bed, and shower. So, you have your own privacy, yet you are all together. The upstairs has the washer/dryer and the main kitchen, so that room does have to share the space with others, or the other upstairs has 2 separate rooms, but they have doors and own bathrooms. Beds were not so comfy, and one was very squeaky which we all overlooked due to how great this place was. Who has time to sleep anyway when you are having so much fun! The pool is long and perfect to hang out and play games. There was a lot of sand in the bottom (we tried to sweep it some, but did not bother us.) In one room there is an ice maker which was fabulous for filling coolers. Parking was great for 4 cars and 2 golf carts. Lastly, the location was perfect. So close to the beach, and town. We looked for a house in the area. It is the perfect spot and will stay there again for sure regardless of the beds. We go regularly to Port A!

Near PERFECT Experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my first time planning a trip for my family to Port A and Port A Vacation Rentals should be your first choice in Port Aransas. The place was absolutely beautiful. Spacious. Exactly like the pictures and the descriptions. Everything we needed, besides the beach and fishing, was at our fingertips. We did have an issue with the pool heater. I paid $100 extra to have the pool heated but the heater was having issues the entire time. They came to fix it the last day we were there, said it would take a few hours to work, but it sadly never did. When we woke up in the morning to check out on Sunday, however, the pool was nice and heated. Sadly we were unable to enjoy it. Only negative on our trip.

First time to Port A

This was our first time to Port A. The stay was a great experience, it almost lost a star, because of the Sparta condition of the property. No way to rinse your mouth in the bathroom, one hand towel for 2 people in the bathrooms, there were no games or decks of cards as listed and the weather was damp a lot causing a need to stay in. The pool needed some attention to make it a plus for the property. The elevator was a real plus for older folks and moving provisions to the second floor kitchen. The local grocery, IGA, is well stocked and made up for any missing items. The kitchen is ok, but the dishwasher needs an update. Door leans down and dumps dishes. The 5 families overall liked the property and the comments are meant to make it a spectacular property. An early checking, say at 3pm would have been a nice touch, but understand turning a properly around may require the later time. Highly recommend a golf cart rental. We were unsure of it value initially, but ended up using it a lot. Have a Great Summer, Jim

Pros and Cons

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros. We loved the layout of the house. We are a blended family with 8 kids total. Their ages range from 15-30 and two of our adult kids are married. The house configuration gave everyone their space yet the large main living room and kitchen was a great place to all gather for family time. The house sits a mile from the beach with pretty easy access by car or golf cart.Cons. The main kitchen microwave did not work at all. Everything had to be warmed up across the breezeway in our kids kitchenette. Maintenance came to look at it and said they have to replace it but they didn’t do it while we were there. The garbage disposal in the main kitchen had a terrible leak so we couldn’t use the right side of the sink until they replaced it which they did. However, the biggest problem we had was the air conditioner in the main unit. At first we thought it couldn’t keep up because their was a lot of in and out of our family since it was the common area and my wife and I were in the main king suite in that unit. But at night the a/c never would cool down to a comfortable point. It was HOT! After communicating with management, sending pics with time of day showing the problem, a maintenance guy came and “cleaned the coils”. It did not help. Then A/c repair guys came 2-3 times and finally determined the unit needed to be replaced......on the morning we left. I’m glad others after us will sleep in a comfortable a/c space. Management did refund some of our money, not enough in my opinion as we had multiple issues and inconveniences. And we shouldn’t be paying thousands of dollars on vacation only to deal with maintenance issues in a home we don’t own. We’re on a get away from responsibility. In my view, if you’re going to own a vacation rental company, you need to make sure all of your properties are in excellent working conditions before renters arrive. Great house for family vacations!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing time at the Hakuna Matata house. It worked perfect for our 11 family members - 3 family units. So much fun! Our only complaint was that we had asked prior to arrival to have the pool heated. But it wasn’t and we had to return to the rental office 3 times to get them to get someone out there to fix it. It finally was fixed the afternoon before we checked out. Really wish they would have checked that andtaken care of it prior to our visit.
