Overall the property is lovely and a fabulous place to stay, especially if you really want to explore the areas around you. The owner has left lots of suggestions for day trips (would highly recommend visiting some of the lakes nearby) and the nearest towns/villages are definitely worth a visit. The location is very remote (which we liked) so it is around 20 minutes to the nearest shop. Although the pool is lovely (and kept very clean) it is worth knowing that it does only get the sun from around midday until 6 so our children found it a little cold to go in outside of these times. Overall a lovely place which provides you a truly relaxing holiday.
This is our 2nd stay at Le Douluch and it was as good as the 1st time. The house is gorgeous and well laid out. All communication with the owners was very clear and friendly and the manager Suzanne was lovely. The house is in a really tranquil area of France which isn’t hugely touristy but the pool is fabulous and private when the weather is good. We had a few overcast days this time but used that to explore the local area and would definitely recommend the chocolate made by the nuns at Abbaye de Bonneval and the lovely village of Valon and it’s chateau. Thanks again to Tony and we look forward to coming back sometime. The nearest supermarket is only 20 mins away and the terrace is beautiful to sit and eat meals in the fresh air drinking in the wonderful view!!
Fantastic property in an amazing location. Peaceful, but not remote, everything you need is within a quick drive. Lazy days by the pool enjoying the fantastic views.
we had with our family a very good time in the house located in wonderful surroundings and a quite environment. The house is well equipped and has a very cozy terrace to stay on.
What an absolutely beautiful property with such a magnificent view. We absolutely loved our stay here, the house offers lots of space and is really well furnished making you feel completely at home as soon as you arrive. That said you won't want to be inside as the pool provides such a lovely space to relax and enjoy the gorgeous French countryside. The outdoor dining area is ideal to sit back and enjoy a leisurely dinner and with its rural location it is so peaceful. Although you are a little off the beaten track it is only 20 minutes drive to the nearest supermarket (and McDonalds to keep the teenagers happy!). Speaking of the teenagers the barn has great wi-fi and with two bathrooms and a separate toilet the facilities meet all demands.
We enjoyed fantastic weather but the barn has a wide range of TV channels available both English and French, there is a mix of books and games to ensure that if stuck inside you will be entertained. There is a locally based Manager (the very pleasant and helpful Katie) who popped by to clean the pool and was available if needed providing extra peace of mind. We thought that the photos of the property didn't do it justice as it was just the nicest place to relax and unwind. We would definitely return, and oh did we mention the magnificent view.....
A renouveler.
