"Beautiful large hotel with easy reach to Sligo town. It was previously a lockdown mental Institution but the clayton has turned it into a 4-star hotel with a restaurant and, spa and indoor pool. The only downside was that when we arrived in the room, the next room had young teenage kids playing football, and the noise was very off-putting as the ball smashed up against the wall. So we immediately went down to Reception and asked if we could be moved. The receptionist apologised and gave us another room, but when we got to it, it also had very young kids next door. We didn't go and complain as we knew they would eventually go to sleep, and they did, and we never heard from them again. The breakfast was good and warm, and the service was good. The staff were all very friendly"
Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone

"The Radison Blu was a very upscale hotel sitting right on the River Shannon in Atlone. A short walk across bridge to Castle & old town. The room was quiet, clean & well appointed . We appreciated them being able to allow us early check in. The Double overlooking the River was quite large & the bathroom very updated. While it is supposed to have air conditioning, it is controlled centrally and only turned on at the facility discretion. Our room was quite warm & when I called about it, I was offered a fan. I did find that the windows opened which also offered some relief. The other thing I disliked was that WiFi was unsecured. In this age, security is paramount and I feel any WiFi offered should be password secured. They have a quite elaborate leisure center included in stat which includes use of bicycles. The gentleman running that was very friendly & helpful."

"Really enjoyed our stay in Athlone Springs in what turned out to be different circumstances that what we were supposed to be in town for. The staff were really helpful and went out of their way to look after our needs. The pool was a great service and one our little man really enjoyed. If we are back in that part of the country we would not hesitate in staying there."

"Lovely rooms and location with lots of space for quiet chats in the common areas. The staff at the pool area were very welcoming!"
The Address Sligo

"The staff are lovely. Always helpful and kind. Breakfast is a little chaotic if too many people arrive at once. Dinner in the North restaurant was fine. The waiter was excellent. My haddock special was superb but my wife’s chicken came undercooked, twice. There is no excuse for that. The maintenance team need to do some work in the room to fix a few faults, which I did mention to reception. Overall I was happy with my stay."
