The Canadiana room is a 1 bedroom studio suite with bathroom. Located at Mt Washington's beautiful Bear lodge. This studio is equipped with coffee, microwave, hot tub in building, TV, Wifi, table for two and a queen bed. Endless views and spectacular natural settings are free. Just what you need for an overnight or weekend getaway. Ski or ride in and out. This is a mountainside studio facing the Comox glacier and other coastal mountains. The Ski lodge is within short walking distance, suitable for mountain biking and new for this season zip lining.

  • Buttle Lake is beautifully situated in the wilderness of Strathcona Provincial Park in the centre of Vancouver Island. When the water is low tree stumps of some areas of deforestation are uncovered. Whilst it is remote it is served by good roads which are required for logging transport. These roads are, mercifully, however very quiet. The campground is basic, pumped water & pit toilets, which in reality take it one stage from wild camping but that is as it should be in a remote area of natural beauty. Do not bother with your mobile phone here. Not a cat in hell's chance of a signal!! Great! #GreatOutdoors

Gary is a great host - very accommodating and quick to respond to my needs. The apartment is very nice and shares a washer and dryer with several other suites, which I found handy for drying wet clothes. I came up to the mountain on the bus so it was great to have accommodation so close to the Lodge for renting equipment and the like.

The studio apartment was comfortable and clean. The host let us know how to reach him and communicated well ahead of our arrival. The alpine meadows are beautiful in the fall.

Parking was weird, being instructed to park under a no parking sign in a torn up gravel parking lot didn't feel right. The room was very clean, comfortable bed, could use more storage, while it's nice to come in and have a little table layed out with 2 place settings - that was the only place to set anything so we had to find somewhere to stack the dishes and make room. there wasn't really anywhere to put your suitcases off the floor, and there was one closet but no drawers to put stuff should you want to empty your suitcase and store it in the closet. All in all it was a very good value for the area and as such kind of makes the pain points worthwhile. Small things like more storage, sugar and cream or whitener would be a good addition to the coffee station.

It was a perfect space for us. Convenient to the base of the mountain and the paradise trails. The only thing that was missing were beautiful views outside clean, clear windows.

Host was very responsive and accommodating. We were even given the option for early check-in. However, upon arriving, the unit had not been cleaned or prepared for us after all. Luckily, we tracked down the sheets in the dryer (still damp). Found spare towels under the sink on the toilet plunger.. and hair from last guest everywhere. Floors were pretty bad too. This unit needs a deep clean. Not likely to stay here again.

De ligging was mooi, maar het de kamer was niet schoon. De ramen waren zo vuil, dat we er niets doorheen konden zien. Ook het servies was niet schoon. De code van de voordeur was oud, en moesten we een half uur wachten op de nieuwe. De eetkamerstoel viel bijna uit elkaar. Deze kamer moet een keertje goed gereinigd worden en alles repareren wat nodig is.

Perfect overnight stay

It had everything we needed for one night. Mini fridge, microwave, TV, Keurig (including pods), kettle and table settings for two set up on the table by the window. Garry was fabulous and we were even able to stay late on check out day, without even asking!

We had a great stay, really enjoyed the hot tub (make sure you book your spot) to help relax after a day on the slopes. Check in and out was a breeze.

Great little room. Everything we needed. No stove top or kitchen. Had good size mini Fridge, Microwave, kurig, toaster, dishes. Hot Tub was great. Make sure to book your time in the board by the tub.
