“This is a cute motel. The property was clean and we had excellent communication. We were able to get an early check in when we called which was wonderful. Check in and check out was easy and convenient which doesn’t always happen with motels which have been updated. The walls are paper thin, so if you are a person that needs quiet I would say this is not the place for you. The bathroom was clean but the tub was not updated(think pink). This meant a nice big tub even if it was pink from another……

“This place was perfect for our Mother’s Day weekend. It is appealing from the moment you pull into the driveway. The cabin is nested in its natural surroundings as if it were always there. The large windows give spectacular views from all sides. The design and décor make you feel comfortable and relaxed. There is room to play games, ample supplies for preparing meals, and very comfortable beds. The screen porch was the place to watch and listen to the birds as the sun rose each morning. The dock……

“This was our second stay at The Cabin. Everything is as shown in the listing. Actually, the patio chairs are now Adirondack type. The owners are accommodating and make the rental process easy. There was a strong winter storm during our visit, but we still made use of the patio and fire pit after some shoveling. We look forward to coming back again when the lake is not frozen and we can use the pontoon and screened back porch.”

“This was a very nice house. Everything was clean. We had everything we could have needed. The location was superb. We could hear the bands at the resort from the front porch swing.”

“Overall nice, quaint place. Quiet, peaceful location. Beds/mattresses need to be updated. Would benefit from more comfortable seating (ie larger couch) in the main area. Had a wonderful, delicious meal from local establishment (Dunmire’s), highly recommend it.”

“I brought my family to this vrbo for a weekend. We loved the ability to sleep all of us with the use of pull out couches and an air mattress, having 3 full bathrooms was a huge plus and the decor was perfect for the location. We even used the fireplace for a bit because of a chilly last morning. My parents and sister enjoyed the paddle boat. The kitchen appliances were all great—there’s even a coffee grinder! The one thing I’d suggest is supplying more coffee cups as well as bowls and……

“This was our 2nd stay and we enjoyed ourselves. This was a weekend away with my kids who are college age. Was a wonderful weekend playing cards. Fishing and floating on the lake in the pontoon. Jeff and Lindsay are awesome hosts.”

“This is our 2nd stay at Sunset Haus and we will be returning this fall. This rental home is like living in the pages of MN Cabins magazine! Lake O'Brien is a quiet, peaceful lake without the water traffic on the Whitefish Chain. If you are considering renting this cabin, I would not hesitate as everything is as advertised and the owners are wonderful. Peaceful, relaxing location but still close to groceries, restaurants, trails and many things to do in Crosslake/Brainerd area. Highly recommend……

“Went for a wedding in the banquet room. Great experience. Front desk girl was a little crabby but we got through it fine. All the taxidermy could use a vacuuming and the tall windows washed in the entryway/second floor landing.”
