Refuge at the Lake: Lakefront Escape Near DFW, Hot Tub & Game Room

  • Refuge at the Lake is the ideal escape from busy everyday life. This modern lakefront home has the comfort of a cottage, with 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a large fully stocked kitchen, dining for 12, a cozy living room, and a game room. The patio and the lake view are what you came for!

Tucked away on the quiet north shore of Grapevine Lake, it feels hours from the city, yet it's only 30 minutes from DFW Airport and 40 from Love Field. Enjoy the most spectacular sunsets right from the patio and a sandy beach when the water level allows. Horse trails, the Northshore Trail, and Twin Coves Park (kayak rentals) are minutes away. Cristina's, some of the area's best Mexican food, is just up the road, and Bridlewood Golf Club is nearby. Historic Downtown Grapevine's wineries, Gaylord Texan, and Grapevine Mills are 20 to 30 minutes away.

Please note: we welcome up to 12 registered guests and can't host events, parties, or weddings.

This place was an absolute gem. We stayed for three nights and absolutely enjoyed it. Markus was an amazing host and made sure to check in on us. The home was tucked back on a dead end so it felt very private and quiet. Saw deer roaming around the property in the morning while having coffee on the back patio. The house had lots of unique designs and cozy bedrooms. You will not be disappointed…

We were in the Dallas area for my nephew's wedding and the Refuge at the Lake worked out great for 8 people from age 2 to 85. One of the reasons we booked the property was that one person had recent knee surgery and another had other mobility issues. Having two rooms on the first floor worked out great but a second bathroom on this floor would have reduced congestion when getting ready for the wedding. We also appreciated that the property was very clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies and towels. The indoor and outdoor spaces for family time was also excellent with great views of the lake. Highly recommended!
