We had a fantastic day at this cabin! The home was very clean and had everything we needed. It is in a great location in the Black Bear resort community, and easy to get to the surrounding parks and town of Davis. The owner made the process very easy and was very responsive. Would love to stay here again soon.

Nice place, well stocked, clean, and peaceful. Good access to the State Parks, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks and the shops and restaurants in Davis and Thomas. Would certainly do it again!

The outside is a little rustic but inside was clean and updated. Nice comfy mattress. The kitchen was easy to cook in with everything I needed. A nice little coffee station offered Keurig or full coffee pot option. Nicely updated bathroom was spotless with lots of hot water. I'm glad it was just me inside. A family of four would be very cozy. But the deck was ginormous. Black Bear offers mini golf, a communal fire pit, tennis courts, and a pool. The views were gorgeous. My Landseer Newfoundland loved walking the grounds with me. Also has a very nice playground. I didn't check out the clubhouse but I'm sure there were lots of things for kids to do on a rainy day. The condo had a collection of puzzles and board games.

Love the natural beauty and atmosphere surrounding the cabin! Perfect for a relaxing get-a-way. Clean, comfortable and well stocked with the essentials. It’s a short drive to artistic shops, good eats, scenic waterfalls and great hiking trails. Looking forward to our next visit!

Cozy Cabin

We had a very nice stay. The cabin is exactly as advertised (except it now has a full-size refrigerator). It is clean, the location is terrific with nice surroundings and easy access to nearby activities. Also there is access to a nice swimming pool and mini-golf. The hosts were very attentive and we would definitely stay here again.

The area was great. The cabin we stayed at was nice. Before arrival we were sent an email saying the place was ready. When we went in we realized it wasn't ready, meaning it wasn't finished being cleaned. The wife and I kinda bitched and moaned a bit. Then heard a knock on the door then someone walks in and says they didn't get to finish cleaning and the person who started to clean it had an emergency. So she finished cleaning the bathroom and we started doing laundry. Just how we want to start a vacation. She recommended us not having to pay the cleaning fee. Manager gave us 50 back. I know things happen but this is my review.

Great for a ski getaway

We came to check out the Timberline and Canaan Valley ski resorts. Our cabin was a short drive to both and offered a quiet, private place to stay. The cabin had everything we needed to cook and the fireplace was very appreciated after a day on the slopes. We had one small issue with a broken shower curtain rod. The owner was very responsive and had it fixed the next day while we were out. I highly recommend this cabin.

Fantastic

First time solo travel and I couldn’t have picked a better spot. Complex was clean and maintained. Easy self checkin and good communication with, updates from, property management. Cabins spaced out nicely, afforded privacy and quiet; and was cozy with all the essentials needed for my solitude stay. No issues with internet/tv inside of cabin. A short drive to town and grocery, with nearby beautiful places to visit and things to do. Would definitely stay here again.

Autumn Getaway

Beautiful cabin nestled in the trees. Perfect place for visiting Blackwater Falls Park. The cabin was the perfect size and offered all of the amenities needed. We have our dog who always travels with us and this place was perfect for her too. The bed was very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the morning sunrise from the deck!

RUINED MY BIRTHDAY

Everything about this place was bad. There was noone to greet us upon checkin. Noone. We couldnt find the place. We drove arouns the resort for 10 minutes before we found our cabin, noone to ask, noone to help us. There was ZETO staff there. Once we found the cabin it was so dirty... it was trash. The porch was covered in debri, chops paijt and mold from never being swept and being in the trees... the debri lept tracking inside the cabin where WE were forced to clean it. NOTHING WAS ACCURATE about the listing.. it said it had a POOL... OUR SELLING POINT... the pool was dismantled, in pieces, and looked like there was no way it would be in working order THIS YEAR let alone our stay, with no mention of it. We drove 2.5hrs one way to get there and all I wanted was that pool. It ruined my birthday treat to myself. Then it listed fireplace, which was in the unit but with a sign saying out of order! Unbelievable! The grill cover was in pieces, so were the screens in the windows. Nearly every blind in the place didnt have a wand to turn them and they didnt stay up. I could go on and on. We asked for our money bacK SEVERAL TIMES and they just told us there was nothing they could do. WORST TRIP OF MY LIFE. We would like refunded.

Little getaway

We love the place so much that we are planning to stay again at the same resort. We had a little minor set back with our vechicle so we stayed at the resort most of the time. We were able to cook at the cabin with all the utensils that we needed plus a grill. There are two ponds that we took our kids to go fishing and they loved that! Plus the mini golfing was a plus for them. We want to come when the pool is open so they can go swimming.

A quaint and quiet destination for all things Canaan Valley

We booked this Pedestal Cabin specifically for the purpose of Skiing and being away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts and in-town lodging, but still close enough that getting to the slopes was only about a 10–15-minute ride. We also wanted a full kitchen to make great comfort food, soups, stew, and desserts. Lastly, we wanted a place that was a bit more secluded and allowed dogs. We mainly come to Canaan Valley to Ski. Canaan Valley’s unusual attributes make the area DEPENDABLE for great ski conditions. Google "Frost Bowl.” Both of the area reports are great for those that like a challenge and those skiing with children. Timberline Mountain has had a significant amount of capital investment in recent years and boasts the longest green trail in the Mid-Atlantic. Search for "things to do in Canaan Valley" and you will quickly find that this is truly a Four-Seasons Destination. Getting there has become much easier than it once was. Upgrades to Highway 48 (also called Corridor H) have cut times out of DC from 5 to 3 1/2 hours. This is very cozy for a full house. The mudroom was a very welcome feature for getting in and going out into the cold. The Beds were great, not a single complaint about sleeping arrangements. We love Canaan Valley and this place was no exception!. Based upon what this experience, we are already excited to come back again!

Perfect family getaway

Beautiful property, easy to get to and wonderful communication with manager. So much to do in the area within walking and driving distance. 10/10 for everything! We cannot wait to go again! Everything was very clean, neat, and even had products for us to use in the bathroom and kitchen areas!
