“Pros: The location to get to Cape Lookout for and early morning ferry was excellent and it was super quiet each night. Comfy beds and plenty of parking. Cons: The house had a strong old smoke smell throughout the house. Additionally there are areas in the floor that are super soft indicating rot. Everything was very worn (sheets, furniture covers, towels). Salt, pepper, coffee grounds, and a bottle of mac'n'cheese were literally the only things stocked in the kitchen. We were were super……

“The rental is an traditional home. It was extremely clean with several updates. We were a little under pressure to book and spent more on this house than normally. The total was 400 and there were only three of us. Coffee was available. No problem at all in getting into the residence.”

“The host was awesome to deal with. The property was clean and well maintained. We loved the fact that it was pet friendly because we always take our dog with us on vacation. The house itself was well maintained and well decorated. The only problem we had was the fact that the yard is very small and we had two boats, there were fire ants that got my husband and son-in-law several times in different places in the yard. We had a great time and the view is spectacular!!”

“We loved our stay here! The hosts were so informative and accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed learning more about the property and the area from them. Also loved having off street parking. The bungalow is decorated so well! Even the sailing boat mobile on the fan was just so perfectly done for the space. We didn’t spend time in the loft but the main floor provided all the space the two of us needed. The outside guest shower was just what the doctor ordered after a beach and ferry day and also……

“Great spot outside of the main tourist area! Perfect for a couple looking to get away for a long weekend. Kitchen has everything you need to make an easy meal and there's a washer/dryer in case you need to do laundry.”

“The host is very friendly and helpful. We had some issues with the door lock and he was able to reset the lock instantly over the phone during check in. The rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen are very clean with more than enough supplies, although the kitchen plates are all plastic and worn. The retreat is very cozy and is only 7 minutes from the ferry, very convenient. We had a good sleep.”

“Only thing that I would have the owner do extra is to advise of her property line for parking reasons. Otherwise, clean and a great beach atmosphere. Several amenities there so renters do not need to over pack. 5 stars”
