“This was our first trip to the Black Hills, and the Little Elk Cottage was the perfect setting for our trip. The cottage is adorable, very private and within reasonable driving times to the area’s attractions. The cottage was well equipped and well furnished. We had a very relaxing getaway, and would recommend the cottage to anyone visiting the Black Hills area. Herb M.”

“The house was very clean and well appointed. Stocked well with all the items you forget about (garbage bags, soap, condiments, laundry soap etc. etc. etc. ) The beds were comfortable. The views are stunning and we saw wild turkeys, deer and of course the koi pond was very peaceful. It was the perfect spot for us to relax and unwind after tours of Mt Rushmore and area attractions. Would absolutely return to this beautiful awesome home. ”

“Loved this historic home— charming, spacious for our group of 7! Nice and close to downtown. Great homebase for our family wedding trip. Rapid City provided us a great home from which we explored the Badlands and Wall Drug, the Black Hills (Spearfish and Bridal Veil Falls), Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse monument, and even Devils Tower in Wyoming. All this and a wedding within 5 days! Thanks for a great home to warm up in after the chilly spring winds.”

“Great little property for hotel alternative. Location is awesome. Walkable to downtown as well as lots of trails around the river that runs through town. Clean and quiet. Plus they let our dogs stay with us. A must for us. Thank you!”

“The overall it was nice and you felt safe and the cabin was clean but the living room furniture it needs some updates no cushioning and if you very large or had walking issues the bathroom was not good you had to sit sideways my husband and I are small to average so we made due and we had to leave a day sooner because. Of car issues so we did not get anything back but it is what it is”

“We had a fantastic stay at the hideaway. It was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. We enjoyed not having to pack all the kitchen appliances, and we took advantage of the kitchen, cooking each night. We spent afternoons soaking up sunshine on the decks aftee hiking nearby trails. The location was perfect, so close to all the parks and monuments. It had everything we needed. We highly recommend!”

“Exactly as listed. My husband and I came for our anniversary and we wanted a place that we could disconnect from the outside world. It was perfect! Close enough to see some beautiful scenery but perfectly tucked away to enjoy peace and quiet! We will defiantly be back!!”
