My initial impression of the property was WOW! I mean, it's a castle. That's exciting! We enjoyed looking around the house at all of the different decorations and hidden gems. Every time you go into a room, you find something new and interesting to look at.
We used the pool/patio space the most. Our kids swam from sunup to sundown. The firepit and fireplace were easy to use and were a nice gathering space in the evenings. The hot tub and pool are in need of some minor maintenance, but that didn't keep us from having fun.
There was plenty of room for us to spread out during the day, and lots of places to sleep at night. There are PLENTY of extra pillows and blankets, as well as lots of towels for the pool.
Several of the door handles were loose, and a couple kept falling off. The upstairs bedroom and the upstairs bathroom gave us the biggest issue, especially when my husband got stuck in the bathroom. I was sad to see that has been an issue in reviews from a year ago. I hope it is resolved soon, since that was honestly our biggest issue but it's an easy fix.
The driveway to the home takes you through a corn field and a wooded area before arriving to the house, which makes you feel incredibly secluded. But you are only a few minutes from a grocery store, beach, or restaurant, so it's the best of both worlds in my opinion.
Overall we had a great time and I would love to book this property again for a future family gathering.
