Silver Lake Cabin #7

Beautiful cabin and amazing view of the lake. The direct access and property layout was perfect for our needs. The only downside was the lower level had a musky smell. Understandably give it is a basement, but would recommend adding a dehumidifier. Otherwise, we loved the property and plan to return next summer!

Revisit Silver Lake

Great house, perfect retreat

This house and property were exactly what I was looking for - a comfortable retreat in a beautiful place with plenty of space for relaxing and having fun with my loved ones and access to a lake. The hot tub was a nice bonus. We found the house to be clean, beautiful and spacious. It was perfect to spend a couple of days reading, playing board games, taking the paddle boards on the lake, chilling in the hot tub, and just generally having a great escape from everyday life. The view from every window was gorgeous! We will definitely book again.

Gorgeous, clean house

The cabin is lovely, clean, roomy, and has everything we needed. The location is gorgeous, remote-feeling and private. The hottub was clean and hot. Everything was perfect except the fireplace. We followed the directions perfectly with a hot fire and not opening the doors, but it continued to smoke out of the rocks, the gas fireplace next to it, and all around the doors. It never did draw properly from the chimney so we spent our first night with doors and windows open, eyes burning and smoke alarm going off until it went out later that night. I suspect there is more wrong with than a Russian chimney. Maybe a squirrels nest? It would be best if the owners close the wood stove until the issue has been fixed. Despite the smokey evening I am giving it a 5 star review because this is something that can be fixed with a closed sign on the chimney and likely a good chimney cleaning.

Perfect getaway

This was out favorite stay on a three week road trip from Florida to Washington and back to Florida. This home is on a wonderful location and the kids loved it! Great hiking close by too.

Perfect place for a family gathering!

Our extended family had a wonderful stay at this property! The well-equipped kitchen and extensive space inside and outside for meals and hanging out was perfect for our gathering. We especially loved the setting, hot tub and peaceful dock--and the pool table was a bonus! Our Labrador mostly enjoyed swimming in the lake ;-) Note that the water pressure was a bit weak; very much a one person at a time situation.

Comfort and relaxation

The property was all that we expected and more. The beds were extremely comfortable “like sleeping on a cloud” as one guest commented. Access to the water was terrific as were the views. All together a clean, comfortable and well appointed house. Minor issue with coffee maker and broken vegetable tray in the fridge but otherwise an exceptional stay.

This was our 2nd stay!

We love this lake house and came back for the 2nd time this April. Perfect for 2 families (4 adults and 3 kids) and a beautiful drive to Mt Baker for some Spring skiing. The setting is gorgeous and the house is cozy. We had a few issues with the entertainment system and I would recommend bringing your own DVDs. My only other request would be curtains for the master bedroom, but the view is stellar.

Beautiful location! Great for a small group of friends or family!

Enjoyed a lovely weekend with a small group of friends at this beautiful cabin! Great layout and plenty of space. Loved the open kitchen, large windows and cozy fireplace. We spent the weekend playing games and cooking in the great kitchen! Only complaints are that the chimney could use a cleaning (ashes blew out every time we opened the fireplace) and the water heater wasn't great. Only one of us could shower at a time and get hot water. The outdoor hot tub was awesome too!

Beautiful dwelling deep in the rain forest of Silver Lake

Two bedrooms upstairs; wonderful view and steep, but easy walk to the lake shore. Midway to shore nice clearing with fire pit. There is a hideaway bed in living room. Five teenagers, not over night guests, loved the basement pool table and huge tv with Dish. Long distance to any large grocery store and very curvy, steep, road; we got lost coming back from Grandson’s HS graduation in Sumas. We would rent again. We had one glorious, stupendous day of sunshine! Getting house key and returning house key awkward. Many rentals have much smoothe-entry security code to get in house.

Yearly Camping Trip

My family and I go camping once a year. We love the area around Silver Lake. We have been doing this camping trip for 25 years now. I am getting to the age that sleeping in a tent is not an option. I have been going to VRBO for a few years now. This year with COVID we had to postpone the trip for 4 months. When we finally got to go. And we opened the door to this house. It was spectacular! It was so beautiful. There was enough room for us, and very comfortable. The views were breath taking, and the hot tub was a hit. The beds were so comfortable, I didn't want to get up in the morning. We brought our little boat and launched it at the park and brought it over to the dock. The dock made it so easy to take my grandsons for boat rides. I would recommend this house to anyone. We all agreed that we would want to come back to this house again. Thank You for a wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful peaceful getaway

My family and I absolutely enjoyed out time at this home. The view was amazing and we had so much fun swimming, fishing and paddle boarding at the lake! We also explored local hiking and mountain biking trails. our 14 year old son enjoyed the downstairs entertainment room, especially playing pool.

Belated 70th birthday

The setting is beautiful and “off the grid.”However, the cleanliness was a great disappointment, especially the kitchen - alliances, cookware, floor, etc. The management has been made aware of all issues and hopefully can remedy.

Beautiful!

The location of this house was amazing! Even with the smoke, it was so beautiful! The only things that we had issues with was the lack of privacy of the bedrooms (great for a family, not as much for individual couples), the oven kept turning itself off and the coffee maker was SO SLOW. We made do tho and all and all had an amazing time!

Perfect for our mini vaca

Beautiful, comfortable and well stocked. Bring your own food, spices, condiments and clothes, everything else is provided for you. The only thing I would suggest is at least one more outdoor garbage can. A family of 10 for 3 nights that included a gift exchange one can wasn't enough.

Pros and Issues with Property ID 1189414

Overall the house was great for our needs and we had a great vacation. But there were many little things broken that should not be -- given the price. First the things we liked are: Like openness of main floor. Large table is great with all the chairs. Lots of seating is nice. Comfortable beds are great. Functional kitchen is nice. Clean and nice upon arrival. In general like the house Covered parking are nice. Washer and dryer are nice. TV channels are nice. Below are the Issues: Batteries in the Master BR stove remote control were corroded and not working. I cleaned them out and replaced them. Remote works now. Master Shower door doesn’t close. The bottom seal is loose. Refrigerator draws for vegetables are broken on both sides. This is a problem closing the drawers with food in them. Hot tub nice but not clean. not fresh. Water was cloudy. Dishwasher doesn’t work well and leaks on right side. Main Fireplace seems to lack intake for air and results in smoke coming out a lot. It is a problem. Light dimmer in living room doesn’t work. Really is needed. Privacy drapes on upstairs bedroom glass doors are totally needed. There is no privacy as is. Master window in bottom right doesn’t open. Soup dispenser in upper bath doesn’t work. Only one person can take shower at a time do to low water pressure. Upstairs toilet doesn’t flush well. Had to plunge it with nothing in it. Same with downstairs toilet. Seems like there might be something downstream in the line. Playground is dilapidated in winter and shouldn’t be listed. I hope that helps. We would rent it again because the configuration of a master downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs works great for us. thanks

Great get away!

This was the perfect cabin, in the perfect place. Everything we needed was in the house. The firepit, dock, and hot tub were all immaculately maintained and ready for use. We will definitely be coming back!
