This motel was categorized as 4 stars it is at best 2,5 stars. It is the typical tiny cape cod motel room. The beds are not great. It was clean and did not smell of mold like most cap motels but the off season charge of $175 per night for a $90 room is ridiculous.

My son and I had a really nice stay at the Starlight Lodge in mid-August. It's in a good location, the property is nice and quiet; we really appreciated the pool, and the lawn with games, grills, fire pit, etc. The room itself was small (especially the bathroom, which was tiny), but it had clearly been somewhat recently updated, and was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Nice Little get away spot

Really nice staff. We had a nice little get away. Had a swim on the heated pool after the beach then had a nice picnic. Having access to a grill and a kitchen was awesome.

Cute, efficient, friendly

We loved this quaint and unassuming little lodge. The pool was cute, space was clean, and the owners are onsite and friendly (cute dogs too). I would definitely say that "bed" is a strong word for the pullout piece in the room- it was a small armchair that folded out to a toddler sized bed- good for a child perhaps but definitely not suitable for an adult to sleep on. We were happy enough to share the bed, but just a cautionary mention if one were relying on that feature. Overall this place was a real gem- very cute and approachable.

Check in was interesting. Thankfully we showed up during office hours. Desk attendant had trouble finding our reservation and complained that expedia had been double booking rooms. She finally found our booking after we showed her a printed copy of reservation from expedia. Lucky ducks!!!

Not worth the trip

When my friend and I went to check-in we were told Hotels.com/Expedia made mistake on numerous reservations, including ours. The manager indicated that she canceled many reservations and only had us for 1 night, despite booking several months ago for 2. While she said she would accommodate, it wasn't a pleasant experience after traveling a few hours. The room was ok, however, bugs and old towels were in the room. I wouldn't stay here again.

Had a very disappointing stay at the Starlight. The room we stayed in (118) was very dirty and smelt of mold. Upon arrival the room was not cleaned yet so the owners went in with a shower caddy and cleaned it for 30 minutes. Upon entering, there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and I even had to clean the A/C filter due to the smell. The floor was grimy and left a black film. While the room may have been 'cleaned' upon arrival, the conditions allude to long term neglect. We checked out after our first night and I requested to be refunded for the evening we did not stay. We were told that we couldn't be refunded because we used Expedia, however Expedia agents worked with us to try to get refunded to no avail (starlight did not pick up the phone). I emailed Starlight with images from our room and they have not replied back to me. I definitely would avoid staying here as they do not take care of the property and also do not work with you when unsatisfied.

Property is an old motel in pretty good shape. There was no one around in the office when we checked in or out, but we had no issues with anything. The rooms are a bit old and fairly no frills, which was fine with us, but I would like to see better locks on the doors, especially since it seems as if there's little staff. It's in a nice area and was very convenient to the house of my relatives, who live only minutes away.
