“Nice room clean comfortable and tastefully decorated.. good hot shower ! It was a little cold in the early mornings - didn’t mange to work out the heating arrangements. Chimney breast in Chatsworth showing water ingress - we understand from the owner that this was being dealt with .. Cafes not really close enough to walk to for breakfast. It would be good if the dining room had a toaster and microwave so that it would be easy to make your own . Overall a good place to stay for visiting family……

“I stayed here whilst visiting Vicar Water County parkrun. It honestly felt as if I was staying with a family member, very friendly and great attention to detail to detail. My room was spotless and had everything I could have possibly needed. I ordered poached eggs and mushrooms on toast for breakfast, it was cooked to perfection. I can’t praise the owners enough.”

“We found the Tap House to be a disappointing stay, full of contradictions. The checkin was easy and the staff friendly. We stayed in a two bedroom unit, which has a sitting area and kitchen. The room was nice but tired with dirty doors and some broken/missing fixtures (door return hanging off, cable trunking missing capping). The kitchen had a kettle and a Lor coffee maker but no tea or coffee, cups but no glasses, knives and forks but no cooking utensils (except for can opener, peeler and……

Paul, the custodian, was charming and helpful, the facilities were adequate, and access to food make a simple breakfast was nice, but every room should have a fan. “Decent on paper, disappointing in reality. The room looked fine in the photos but fell short in person. We were on the ground floor and arrived to a strong smell of cigarettes - the throw blanket had a burn hole in it, suggesting a previous guest had smoked despite the advertised £100 fine. There was pink staining on the shower floor and the only chair had a broken spindle on the back - when I went to move it, the top rail separated entirely from the remaining spindles and I had to pop it back……
