“Can't recommend enough. Beautiful location on Lough Corrib. We had a family reunion and the house had everything we needed for big dinners on the shores of the lough or in inclimate weather, eating indoors. Oughterard is very easy to get to from Galway on a new road that makes the journey quick. (about 30 mins) The town itself is lovely with nice food options for eating out. The interior of the house is very comfy. Especially the beds. The furniture is a bit dated but did not present any……

“Perfect spot for a quiet getaway. The property was beautifully designed and very well kept. It had great amnesties that allowed us to dine in and enjoy the wood burning stove. A short walk to the beach was also a bonus. We would definitely stay again”

“Lovely natural lighting with many skylights, (switch lights too). Very well appointed! Easy bus travel—5 min walk to the pub or flag the bus on the road; easy travel to Galway and An Spidéal (look up galwaybayfishing.com for a fantastic day out, finishing with a meal of the fish you caught in a local restaurant …#bestdayever!!). 1.5 hrs to Bunratty Castle too!!”

“Wir sind zu fünf Erwachsen dort gewesen. Das Häuschen war super und hat alles gehabt was man braucht. Alles hat super funktioniert👍 Der Bruder der Vermieterin der nebenan wohnt war sehr nett. Supermarkt ist etwas entfernt, aber wenn man dieses Haus mietet, hat man ein Auto und dann ist es egal. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen!”

“Fantastisk beliggenhed med den smukkeste udsigt. Mulighed for mange gode ture - til fods eller i bil - fra stedet. Lejligheden var kold og uden radiator i spise-opholds-stuen (der var radiatorer i de andre rum). Vi savnede en ansat på stedet til at svare på spm. Fx da der ikke var varmt vand eller da vi ikke kunne få badet på 1. sal til at virke. Eller om de havde en mobil radiator til spiseområdet ;)”

“This is a lovely house in the Irish countryside. It has lovely decorations, was well furnished, and very comfortable. Dièdre was very responsive and helpful. Getting to the house takes a bit of doing, but the location is quiet and is great for taking walks.”

To address some items mentioned in others reviews: When we got there there was a musty smell, as others have mentioned, but it did get better over our time there. The heat was off and it was extremely cold on our arrival, and I feel like living there and keeping it warmed up helped the situation. There is a small fishing operation off shore (3 rings) but in our opinion it doesn’t detract at all from the ambiance. It is……
