A place to stay

Everything was nice. Not a lot of indoor seating, but there was a nice fenced yard with a small hole that the friendly neighbor dog checked in with us, every once in a while. The beds were thin. I could feel a board in my back all night long. Glad we only stayed one night.

Worst place I’ve ever rented from Vrbo

The guy that owns the property, accepted my money through the booking and then tells me I have to send my ID through the site. There is no where to send an ID through this site, so I wrote him, but days go by with no response. So, I try calling repeatedly. No answer. So I tried emailing, tried calling some more, still no response. Mind you, he said in his ONLY message that if he doesn’t “receive my ID” we won’t be given entry to the rental. It’s now 2 days till my stay, with NO communication from him, so I gave texting a try, and though it took him hours to respond, he finally writes and said to “email him a copy of my ID”. Even though Vrbo doesn’t require it and he’s thinking of the “other” site he uses, I send him the ID. He finally sends the code for the door the morning of our rental. No further communication takes place. We arrive, the AC in the unit makes a terrible noise, the back yard is trashed and things aren’t clean in general. We stayed our couple of nights and on the last day we wake up at 9am as check out is at 10. At 9:20am we hear knocking at the door. It’s him claiming he’s bringing us a “box fan”.. 40 minutes before check out?!? I didn’t open the door. I told him to come back when we have gone. The whole thing was very weird. I am never renting from that guy again.

Disappointed

Location was good, the house is set up well for a family and dog. Everything was overshadowed by the fact that it was not clean. Spills on all the cabinets and some walls, floors needed vacuumed, dust in every corner and on the baseboards (didn't help that i have an allergy kid). The coffee and kitchen tables had crumbs all over them. The tiny coffee pot and toaster were covered with grease. We didn't have another option at that point so we stayed, but would not again.

Property not that clean, bugs and not great area, host slow to respond.

Host never responded to my question before our stay. 1st night was ok, but the rentals was not that clean and bedding didn’t look clean. 2nd day we came home to ants, everywhere, we had to leave. Took 5 days for any refund and didn’t even refund the full night. Host was also slow to respond and made us pay for the cleaning fee!

Great spot- a couple mi or issues

On this unit the unlock button actually locks it and the lock button unlocks it. It’s programmed backwards so it took us a while to get in. Also the stairwell was dim/dark and a little sketchy.

Property was very clean - and it was nice to each have our own bedroom. I wish it was a bit warmer in the apt and the towels in the bathroom were a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise it was centrally located and we could easily get on and off the interstate quickly. Also Tobias was very reachable when we had issues getting in the door one evening!

Cute place!

The place was super cute and comfortable. The decor felt homey, and everything was in great shape! The only "downfall" I would say is the smell was a little overwhelming for my liking! It smelled fresh, but it was a little over powering with all the scent containers. Overall, great place and we would definitely stay again! Super close to the IA event center and grocery.

Clean, great location and responsive host!

This property is in a great location right off the interstate which is perfect for commuting around Des Moines for events. It is waking distance to coffee and shopping. I shared the king bed with my two young girls and the couch in the living room was comfortable enough to sleep on. It also had a nice backyard but we werent there long enough to enjoy it. The host was very kind and responsive.

Bachelorette Weekend
