“Once a year my BF and I get our families together somewhere between our cities and chill for a long weekend. We are usually looking for something of a Big Chill house (movie reference). In that, we scored with Penny's home in Quincy. Her home is truly beautiful and was designed for entertaining. The entire property can be seen from two sitting areas plus an screen room facing the woods and Quincy Bay. The kitchen was massive and had everything we needed. And the bedrooms were perfect for what……

“This was an amazing place. Comfortable, relaxing, and homey. The furniture is beautiful. The plants are real. I long for a sense of place with history and character, not plastic flowers and indescript mass art. This house checked all tbose boxes. We liked it so much that we quickly reserved a stay for our return trip. This will be our go to everytime we go to Hannibal which is our favorite stopover on our way to Chicago. Mark Twain soul is so refreshing. The people of Hannibal make me feel apart……

“This is a great place with a beautiful view! It has everything you need for cooking and serving! The place was very clean and neat. The young people loved the pool. The only problem we had was several hornets nests, which caused three little kids to get stung. We bought spray and sprayed the nests.”

“We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin! The cabin was extremely clean, had everything we needed (towels, bedding, basic kitchen supplies), and the ac unit kept up even in the heat wave we were experiencing (plus there are several fans you can move where desired). It has a beautiful view of the river, and the outdoor garden/patio space is stunning. The host even shared some tomatoes and peppers with us - yum! Yes, the floors are wonky and the ceiling is low in places, but it adds to the unique……

“We stayed here while visiting family in town and didn’t want to book multiple hotel rooms. This was perfect for our family. Very conveniently located close to downtown. Little bit of road noise in the adult bedroom, but we played white noise on a phone and slept right through it. House was accurately described in the listed and everything was very clean and comfortable!”

“Wonderful cabin. Well kept/clean, everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Secluded, perfect place to stay with our very vocal miniature schnauzer. There was nobody around for him to annoy with his barks of excitement! Saw lots of deer including a mama and her twins and one turkey. Enjoyed popcorn and listening to the records. Extremely comfortable bed. Porch was perfect for playing games in the rain and having morning coffee and grilling out. My only complaint was i was expecting a bottle of……
