"The holiday home is located in Etchu-Yatsuo and offers a lovely view of the rice fields and the Northern Japanese Alps. It is ideal for day trips, for example to Takayama, Kanazawa or the Northern Japanese Alps. The owners live right next door and are extremely hospitable and helpful. The holiday home is lovingly decorated and cozy. Only the shower cubicle built into the kitchen takes a bit of getting used to."

"Wat Hotel in Takayama is excellent. Location is good, walking distance to Sanmachi Suji famous street, the red bridge and various other locations in the town. The property itself is fantastic, with a welcoming area where you get a free drink (beer included) per person when you check-in, very nice rooftop area. The rooms are amazing (we got a superior twin whose size was bigger than US-based hotels -- it was huge). Breakfast was fantastic. Parking was provided at 800 yen right there are the property. That said we went in early July so it wasn't crowded, I would imagine that busier travel periods may be different since the main parking lot fits perhaps 40 or so verhicles. Definitely recommend."
