“Lovely large property.
Location is ok - halfway between Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi.
Cleanliness of property was not great - there was hair in the showers and the sink was blocked.
Struggled to get responses sometimes.”

“I had a really bad experience with this homestay. I booked a room and received no confirmation or reply at all. After waiting, I decided to message them—only then did the host finally respond and casually told me the room was not available, and asked me to apply for a refund myself. No apology, no help.
I tried contacting the agent and was told to just “wait” with no clear update. It’s been days now. I’ve checked my mailbox and refund status—nothing. The communication is incredibly slow, and……

"After several years, I finally decided to come to The Lone Pine Hotel again for our family summer trip.
The concierge had changed to an atrium in the middle of the building. And the old entrance had changed to the coffee corner. It looked like a co-workers space. After I entered the room had changed in a small mirror in the corner and the big logo on the wall.
We woke up in the morning and we walked to the Bangalow restaurant for breakfast. The first looked at the difference between Asian and Western styles. There were specially made dim sum, congee and soup noodles and they had only two dishes of laksa sourced from Malaysian food. Some tables could be seated outdoors with a sand floor. Even though the rainy day could be felt beach.
Finally, it was a great relaxed place in Penang.
