Okay, well, I'll never poo-poo a motel in this price range. I hadn't seen a rate this low in 15 years. Other folks must have felt the same way, because when i woke up after the first night of my 3 night stay, the parking lot was full.
It must be difficult to perform the upkeep on an old property like this. It seemed like it was just a small family running it, but i don't know for sure. Something i hadn't seen before, when checking in, they demanded a $20 cash deposit to receive your remote control for the TV. Once i figured out the remote, there was a good TV plan, with plenty of channels including local stations. The room was good-sized, and smelled like someone smoked a pound of dank weed in there, even though there were 'no smoking' signs all over the property.
The bed was comfortable. There was a microwave and full-sized fridge(!)-which was nice. The bath was clean. Older fixtures. Some holes which could use patching. With the full capacity, i found out getting back to the room late meant the hot water had run out. Not that i wanted hot water during my stay-the temps were in the 90s. Which brings me to the only real problem I had : the AC didn't work very well. While it was 90 outside, the AC unit in my room was kicking out some 78 degree coolness on full blast in the room. So it was a little better inside... but not much. Again, im sure it must be tough to try to fix all the things that need fixing. in closing, if you are on a low budget, you can't beat the price.
