“Comfortable beds and an acceptable breakfast, but with little choice. The hotel was very run down, the bedroom window was badly rotten, and the bathroom was in great need of a refurbishment. The 'luxury toiletries' that were promised on the website consisted of one bottle of an unbranded liquid hand wash. This property is part of the Richardson Hotel Group and I would not use any of their hotels again!”

“I would like to have given the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel 5 stars. However, I have only given it 4 stars because the main hotel description on Expedia is inaccurate. It says "this hotel sits directly on a pebble beach....". It does not. It is situated about 3 minutes walk from the beach, 75 feet above sea level on the adjacent hillside. I pointed this error out to the receptionist, who agreed the description is incorrect. But it has not been changed. In all other respects, the hotel met our……

“Lovely stay, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was kept nice and hot. We had Room 328 which was very bright and airy with panoramic views, the station, cricket ground and a corner view of the sea. The shower over the bath proved to be tricky in getting the right temperature without being scolded or it turning freezing cold, hence this took about 10/15 mins each day! Bed should be replaced, has probably seen better days as it was very squishy and bouncy,……
