Our stay started off with a warm welcome at check in from John and his trusty sidekick Rex. To our surprise we were given an amazing hamper of locally sourced essentials and treats. Sandpiper Cottages are set in a secluded little haven just outside Bicheno. The cabins have everything you need and the welcome basket was a winderful addition.

Fantastic stay for my family of 4. Cottage was clean, well appointed, comfortable beds and very warm heaters. Short walk to a beautiful beach and short drive to Bicheno. Loved the welcome basket, and would recommend Sandoiper Cottages highly.

Absolutely amazing place that I really don’t want to share with anyone. So peacefully quiet, only minutes from Bicheno by car, super clean and comfy bedding. The private beach access was spectacular and a breakfast hamper on arrival was nicely packed with local produce

The fireplace with ready logs, the super comfy beds, the wonderful heating system in every room, the well equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, induction stove, washing machine with detergent. Short walk to a white sandy beach which feels like a private beach. We loved it!

Wonderful location, close to beach

This place is just lovely, the owners are very friendly and quite helpful. The cottage was quite extensive with a lot of furnishings and kitchen utensils. A gourmet basket is provied on arrival, including eggs from their chickens! and, freshly baked scones were provided. Great place, will definitely Crome back again.

Cosy cottage with all a family needs

Because we're not the rustic style types we booked the newer, accessible 2 br cottage, called 'Hanalei'. Comfortably, sensibly and attractively furnished with everything we (three of us, including two teenagers) needed. Thoughtful inclusions in the kitchen to make self-catering easier, plus the offer at reception to help out with extras like spices. Roll-in/out shower and ramp access to entrance of course. Surprisingly spacious especially in the bathroom/laundry. 10km drive to Bicheno which I decided I didn't want to do at night - so we stayed in and watched DVDs from the library at reception. Comfy beds. Verandah overlooking park-like grounds populated by foraging chooks and with quirky features. Stroll through grounds to gorgeous Denison Beach. This place would be magnificent in summer when guests could best take advantage of the outdoors, but we found the cottage cosy and comfy in cold weather too with three very effective wall panel heaters. No dishwasher, which did not trouble me. Only concern was finding that some items in the kitchen cupboards had not been washed properly by a previous guest (a problem often found in serviced accommodation). Otherwise the whole cottage was perfectly clean. Would love to return one day.

Beautiful beach front accommodation

Fantastic three bedroom accommodation with access to an amazing coast line, so private but only 7 kms from the lovely little sea side village of Bicheno where we were able to buy fresh sea food from the wharf. We were three friends travelling together so it was great to have our own rooms. We had a fantastic stay for the three nights. I would love to come back and spend a week.

Lovely cottages close to the beach

Lovely comfortable cottages, well maintained, clean and with everything you could need. Easy access to beach, which is stunning! Only a minutes walk from the property. Definitely recommend. Only negative is the WiFi is quite slow, of course you don't go there to be on the internet all day, but was difficult to check emails etc. But that was the only negative. Truly amazing place, we will definitely be returning!

This place is comfortable and lovely. It is closed to the beach but a little off town area but is not a problem if u drive. It includes a fully functional kitchenette and laundry. Something which all families will need. Only thing was the toilet was not flushing on the last day of stay. But the owner responded quickly when we reported the issue. Will definitely stay again.

A very relaxing paradise by the beach near Bicheno. The cottages were well equipped and the log fire on the cool night was lovely. A short stroll down to the beach to watch the spectacular sunrise.

Beautiful place to relax

Right from check in we were made very welcome. The small details make the cottages a delight to stay at. Close enough for activities and to go out for meals and far enough away to enjoy the peaceful gardens and seclusion on the beach. We would definately stay again would loved to have stayed longer.

Wonderful

A wonderful place to stay . Well located a minutes walk to the beach. Also close to Freycinet National Park. The cottage had wonderful, comfy beds and was extremely well fitted out with BBQ facilities and all you need for self catering, Tony was a great host with excellent tips on things to do, would highly recommend this place to stay.

Un cadre idyllique!

Magnifique cottage au bord d'une plage splendide ! Chambres propres, spacieuses et calmes, pièce de vie conviviale....Le tout sur un jardin très bien entretenu. Les propriétaires sont sympathiques et très disponibles. La nuitée est un peu chère mais le service et la situation sont parfaits!
