Golf trip

We stayed at hotel to play the three golf courses at Rosapena. The hotel staff are brilliant and friendly with a delicious breakfast. The rooms are massive too.

Enjoyable short break

Well appointed, generous size and comfortable clean room, well serviced. Excellent helpful and friendly staff. Good food - great choice at breakfast and tasty evening bar food. Well located with easy access to the gorgeous Downings beach next to hotel.

Perfect location, everything within walking distance. No pool onsite but we knew this upon booking. Good breakfast clean rooms, quiet despite facing the 'disco' area. Upper rooms very warm without air con but overall excellent.

Great hotel close to the beach.

This beautiful hotel has a wonderful location close to the beach and the rooms are lovely. The brilliant bar had very friendly staff and served great food. The full Irish breakfast was great so we highly recommend this super hotel in a great location.

Static caravans ruin the views

The hotel and staff were nice enough but the location was awful. I wrongly assumed that given its location and the beach photos on its website there would be beautiful views of the bay but didn’t do my homework properly. Check out Google maps but on satellite view to see the clutter of static caravans completely dominating the best part of Downings and covering the entire length of the bay right up to the boundary of the hotel car park ☹️

A true gem!

We stayed for one night and it happened to be the last night of the season. We were met with a friendly receptionist. We had dinner in the bar and it was one of the nicest meals I’ve had in Ireland in the last 2 years! Great service, varied menu, lots of vegetarian options, absolutely delicious food. The room was spacious and a lovely comfortable bed. Breakfast was a buffet style served to you. Again this was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel. I didn’t use any of the leisure facilities to comment.

Great place

The hotel is not fancy, but very comfortable and clean and super well positioned just next to the beach. Our biggest surprise was their amazing (and really cheap) dinner, which we enjoyed a lot!

Nice hotel, great location, food good. Staff at breakfast were so unhappy looking and weren’t sure about what they were doing. Staff on desk and bar really friendly.

Great spot for short family break

Excellent price for family room inclusive of breakfast. Dinner in the bar was 3 courses and a glass of wine for 17.50 euro. Food was lovely and was a nice atmosphere. We used the swimming pool and the soft play area that was free to guests which was a 2 minute drive from the hotel. That was the only negative as we didnt bring extra towels for the next day and also the pool didnt open until 12 noon. Right beside the beach and a short stroll to a lovely traditional pub. I would go back again
