「We had a fantastic stay at The Family Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and quiet. And the breakfast was amazing! Just a few minutes’ drive from the Tramway Museum, or a lovely 40-minute walk along the canal to the Hurt Arms in Ambergate. In the end, we were sorry that we were only staying the one night; wish we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Derbyshire!」

「We only stayed for one night however were amazed at how low the price of £131.41 was for the service and facilities. Good size room, nice shower, complimentary drinks in fridge, complimentary packed lunch for the following day and a good breakfast choice. When you consider that this is also peak holiday season it is exceptional value for money for the room we stayed in.」

「A little gem that we will definitely return to. Rooms were finished to a high quality - not just style over substance. Beds comfy, shower amazing, hot tub fab and one of the best nights sleep for a while. Paired with excellent food and service at Bowling Green Inn, would highly recommend 👍」

「Management excellent - as were all the staff. Listed building and would benefit from some TLC as we had expected, but we were allocated a lovely room and had a great stay. Housekeeping standards not amazing - but bins emptied and water replaced. The bar area and lounge/restaurant lovely but the standards dip a little as you head upstairs to the room - just small things like the hand rails grubby. Food wise, we only ordered a pizza (which was clearly a frozen Iceland style pizza) so not the best...

「One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. Nothing we didn't like, beautiful hanging baskets, beer terrace, a very popular, dog friendly pub, thanks.」
