干瀑布

The greatest waterfall the world has ever seen? That's what geologists tell us happened 20,000 years ago when a large glacial lake in Montana broke through it's 2000 foot tall (641 m) ice dam and flooded eastern Washington and Idaho with 600 cubic miles of water (2,500 cubic km). The flood water rushed over this 400ft tall (121 m) ridge at 65mph (104 kmh), generating a flow roughly 10 times larger than the flow of all the world's rivers combined! This happened roughly 40 times over a 2000-year period.

Today, Dry Falls is a state park with hiking trails, water sports and campgrounds. Stop by the visitor's center for more info.

Washington Dry Falls is a 3.5-mile-long (5,600 m) scalloped precipice in central Washington, on the opposite side of the Upper Grand Coulee from the Columbia River, and at the head of the Lower Grand Coulee. According to the current geological model, catastrophic flooding channeled water at 65 miles per hour through the Upper Grand Coulee and over this 400-foot (120 m) rock face at the end of the last ice age. It is estimated that the falls were five times the width of Niagara,:116 with ten times the flow of all the current rivers in the world combined.

Beautiful Dry Falls lake is south of the Grand Coulee Dam. There is a gift shop (we didn't visit) and an option to hike down to the lake.

Soap Lake is said to have healing properties in the mineral enriched water and mud. It is a meromictic lake, which means it's 2 layers of water do not mix together. There are only 11 meromictic lakes in the United States.
