We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 adults and 2 older teens for a week in August 2019 and the apartment was great for our needs.
A lot of other apartments for 4 people had only 2 double beds or relied on people sleeping on sofa beds. So this was great for my older teenage sons to have a single bed each in their shared room.
The wi-fi system in the apartment was very reliable. First time I've seen a working VCR for a while ! Mind had no video tapes to play on it.
I would recommend bug spray if sitting outside later on as my wife did get bitten quite a lot.
The single A/C unit based above the front door worked very well and was quiet. We did sleep with the bedroom doors open to keep the rooms cool.
The apartment is located around only half a mile North West of the Old City and Pile Gate. However there are rather a lot of steps to walk up or down ! So this may be an issue those less mobile.
There are a number of small supermarket shops nearby the apartment that are much better value than anything near the Old City. The Studenac is closest, but closes around 8/9pm, whereas the slight larger local Pemo shop is open until midnight. This shop was really useful when we arrived late on our first night. There are large full size supermarkets around 1km away in the opposite direction to the Old City such as the Pemo Hypermarket on the way to the Gruz Marina.
Parking around Dubrovnik especially in Peak Season is a complete nightmare. With very little on street parking anywhere. There is a public garage near the apartment which charges 65 Euros per day. They did do a one week parking pass for £300 ! This is actually cheap compared to some of the car parks nearer the Old City which were charging £10 per hour to park. We were going to rent a car, but it wasn't worth the hassle or expense.
Some of the best activities we did there were the boat trip to Lokrum, City Wall walk, cable car to the Imperial Fort, 3 island ferry trip and 3 hour sea kayak trip.
I would definitely recommend this apartment for a family of 4.
