If you are looking to avoid the cruise ship crowds and a packed 7 mile beach, consider renting a car and heading over to compass point on the east side. Everything on the east side is cheaper and you can have beautiful beaches all to yourself. The complimentary breakfast each morning was a great way to start each day. The staff was ridiculously friendly. We didn’t do any diving, but we saw them prepare the boats each morning from the restaurant overlooking the dock. They get everything ready for you, you just walk on the boat, enjoy your dive and then walk off. They take care of all the set up and clean up. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The units have full kitchens and the bbq grills next to the pool were very high quality and kept super clean. The restaurant at the facility was very good, with a lot of variety and reasonably priced. There is also an awesome Mexican restaurant 100 yards down the road. If you want a variety of shops and restaurants all within walking distance, this probably isn’t the place for you. I would highly recommend renting a car, and driving over to rum point or even over to the west end so you can experience everything the island has to offer.
