"Having dined here several times under the previous owners, this was, however, our first time staying at the Open Arms (now under new ownership). We were not disappointed. Dinner was as delicious as before (though we were sorry to see that the haggis wellington option was no longer on the menu). My partner’s severe pork allergy was catered for with an alternative option for his breakfast & staff seemed well aware of this - thank you. Our room was clean, comfortable & had all the amenities we needed for our stay. (The only thing to mention is that when the shower went on, it made an extremely loud whistling noise throughout which should be looked at.) Relaxing by the fire on a wild & wet afternoon was just the tonic on this short break. The staff cannot be faulted. All were friendly and welcoming, but special mention must go to the dark-haired lady who may be the reception manager (?) who made you feel as if you were a guest in her home. "My room was clean, warm & very comfortable. Easy WiFi connection. Plenty of tea/coffee facilities. All staff were so helpful and friendly, but full marks go to the lovely chap at reception, who helped with the 'uncorking' of my birthday bottle of vino! A perfect stay on my way home to Kent."
