"On arrival our room was ready and we were invited to check in 3 hours early! Unheard of but much appreciated!
Front desk staff were ALl gracious and helpful. The room was sparkling clean and beautifully appointed…lots of thoughtful built in touches.
On the downside: The “Lifted” restaurant on the 5th floor was an awful experience. Go there if you want to know what it’s like to eat in a college campus cafeteria…so loud you need to read lips to talk to the server or your dining partner. You’ll be surrounded by rowdy people wearing beach attire and the smell of pool chlorine and suntan products will waft over you while you eat an expensive wrap sandwich and fries for $24 per person. Add a couple of drinks and a tip, and you’re close to hundred bucks for a couple.
Who wants to spend that kind of money for a meal in this type of atmosphere?
We felt sorry for the server who was doing his best and was the best part of the experience. We couldn’t wait to get out of there…so we ate quickly, paid our bill and left.
It’s a shame this experience does not match the lovely ambiance and wonderful service of this hotel.
Also, the French Bakery was a disappointment…did not live up to it’s
enticing description and high prices. You’ll get mediocre coffee and pastries.
Wish I could give this hotel an “excellent” rating, but just “good” fits the bill.
If you stay, find other place to eat!!"
