Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach and Golf Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Pretty hotel and grounds, but LOUD. The voices and music just reverberate due to all the hard surfaces. Our room had the noisiest neighbors. One side allowed their screaming kids out on the balcony at 7AM each day waking us up. They would yell “Hi” down to the workers below. The other side had a family reunion every morning at 7:45 with LOUD voices. The hotel should have an adult-only side. The restaurants were very good, but pricey. The pool cabana price was grossly misrepresented to my friend. And the pools were cold. The beach was amazing and had complimentary chairs and umbrella. The Rain forest is so close. I recommend going more than once and take bug spray. It’s beautiful. The rooms included a small refrigerator, and the shower and bed were great! We saw a cabaret show at The Vault. It was good, but the drinks and appetizers were way too expensive. My husband played golf 4 times and liked it. My friend had a massage and said it was wonderful, but they kept trying to upsell her on add-ons. The resort fees were over $100 day and parking was $25 day. Would I go back? Maybe. It is very nice, but I felt a little too expensive for the value, but it’s also one of the best places to stay in PR. Just know you’ll pay for it. "
"This is a great house for a large family, beautiful landscaping and pool, with convenient drive to beach activities and access to tennis courts. Host was very responsive and provided extras on request such as racquets and soccer ball for kids activities."
"House was good and clean. Forest and ocean views were stunning. Host provided excellent communication right from booking till checkout. The house has all the amenities as if you are at home."
"This was a very nice spot right by the river. The tent and bedding were clean and insect-free, though also had a strong but not unpleasant floral detergent scent. The shower had hot water (though give it plenty of time to warm up) and the bathroom was clean. We were the only guests at the time which was either good or a bit spooky. Lots of cool coqui frogs which we were able to find with a flashlight singing right around camp! Also heard an owl at night! It's clear the owners are putting effort in to make this nice and the two staff we met as they were setting up the tent were very kind. Thank you!"
"Kinda hard to find in the dark. The house is beautiful and very close to rain forest. Close to groceries, beach, places to eat. The rain forest sounds at night are amazing !!Only disappointment was hot tub wasn’t working "
"One of the best VRBO properties I have stayed at! An outstanding location for our group of 15. We had children, adults, and an infant. We went to PR for a microwedding and selected this gem in proximity to El Yunque/beaches. From start to finish, the host Angel supported us with all of our needs. The customer service exceeded expectations! Communication before hand was warm and welcoming and we were allowed to drop off luggage early so that we could explore the area without worrying about our bags. The house is absolutely incredible. All the bedrooms are dark, cool, comfortable and modern. The pool is fabulous and there is every outdoor game you can think of: cornhole, giant Jenga, connect 4, pool table, ping pong, etc. the outdoor patio with covered seating made it so easy for us to be together in shade while others swam. I loved the egg chair and sat and wrote my vows while sipping some sparkling wine at sunset. There are mango trees on the property and the kids loved gathering their breakfast. The kitchen was so well-stocked and even had an espresso maker! It was a totally glamorous house indoors and out with excellent upkeep and modern styling. Lots of attention to details in the decor. My favorite part was how hospitable the owner’s policies are. There is no big list to complete upon checkout! Parking was easy and secure and the grounds had lots of room for kids to run around safely. And, Angel found my diamond necklace and shipped it to me! Trustworthy team!!"
