  • Nestled on a Lake Michigan bluff, where the Door County Peninsula meets the vast waters, Porte Haven offers a retreat like no other. Imagine waking up to panoramic views that stretch across the horizon, where you can watch the Washington Island Ferry glide by every hour, surrounded by the tranquility of the lake. Welcome to your upscale cabin perched atop an old boathouse, where every detail invites you to unwind and embrace the magic of waterfront living.

Porte Haven accommodates up to 8 people (6 adults + kids, with children under 3 staying free), offering a master bedroom with a king bed, a bunk room perfect for kids, a guest room with a queen bed, and even a king bed in the boathouse basement. Three spa-like bathrooms elevate your experience, featuring amenities such as a sauna shower, a Kohler soaking tub, and an infinity sink that spills over in a mesmerizing display.

Wow, can’t say enough good things about our stay!! House was so clean and stocked with lots of amenities. Our hosts provided the right amount of communication and help. The location was amazing and it was nice to have our own private beach area. So great that the hosts allow your pet to come along for vacation! We would definitely stay here again and maybe even check out one of the other properties the host offers!

Beautiful home on Lake Michigan

We had a wonderful stay at Porte Haven. Gorgeous view from the Master Bedroom. We especially enjoyed the steam sauna and the gourmet kitchen. We hope to be back next year. Jeremy and Caitlyn are great hosts and respond quickly. Choose this home, you won’t be disappointed!!

Peaceful getaway

Wonderful setting on the water. You can hear the water hitting the rocks and the trees moving in the breeze. Short walk to ferry to Washington Island and beach was great! The house is amazing. So much room to relax. The screened in porch was my favorite area. Nothing to do but relax but close enough to grab some ice cream in Sister Bay and smoked fish in Gills Rock. This was our second stay with DC Cabins. Our goal is to stay at each of the properties as they do not disappoint! Clean, comfortable and peaceful. Can’t wait to come back.

Perfect for multiple families

This property was perfect for two families with teenagers! There was something for everyone. We loved the uniqueness of the bathrooms and the cool game room that the kids hung out in. Very spacious! The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make our trip great. We hope to return back to this property in the future.

What a beautiful place! We loved our quiet and peaceful stay here over the Thanksgiving holiday. This place is unique, spacious, clean, warm and cozy, has amazing views, and so much more. I especially loved the fact that the furniture was comfortable and high quality - none of the cheap stuff you find in so many bnbs these days. The hosts were super welcoming and communicative, and made sure we had all that we needed for our little getaway. Thanks so much for an amazing stay!

Bucket List Vacation

Visiting Door County was a bucket list item for my visiting family and they were not disappointed 😊. Porte Haven was a beautiful property with a fantastic view. I have a son that has mobility issues and the main floor of the house was accessible to him. I really appreciated being able to bring him and have him enjoy family time 😊. He loves boats and watching the Washington Island Ferry was entertaining to him. It was close to a beautiful state park, Ellison Bay and obviously the ferry! If we had an issue Jeremy and Caitlin were a text away. We would, and hopefully will stay with them again someday.

Great Place

Our family had a great stay at Porte Haven. The view really can't be beat. The house is very unique, especially each of the bathrooms. It had a high end feel throughout. We loved using the pool table, dart board, and gameboard area. The layout of the house was also really cool with lots of interesting and unique spaces thoughout. The hosts were great at communicating and responding to any questions right away. We will definitely be taking a look at more of this hosts properties for future trips.

This is a beautiful property with beautiful amenities. The location is amazing! It was the perfect location to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday! The owners were friendly and helpful :) I recommend renting this property and we will be renting again!

The views at Porte Haven really are hard to beat! The kitchen and patio view was where we loved spending most of our time. Hosts were very kind and had great communication with us during our stay.

Gorgeous views

You won’t find better views of the lake anywhere - truly spectacular. The home sits as close to the lake as possible and the windows are large and abundant. Perfect lake and nature viewing for any season.
