House on the hill

The property is located on a hill a shirt distance from Clare. It was the great location for our 3 night stay in Clare over Easter. It had everything we needed. Including breakfast and staples for us to enjoy.It would recommend this accom to anyone that keen to getaway with some privacy, yet still close many wineries in the region

Wonderful house with wonderful views in a wonderful location

We really enjoyed our stay at this property for an Easter long weekend with family and dogs. The house was perfect for our family group with lots of space for all. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise and sunset views and the local visiting wildlife. The generous breakfast provisions were much appreciated. The location was so convenient for many of the Clare Valley attractions.

Great elevated rural location close to town.Very peaceful Shower head in second bathroom needs replacing/ cleaned. Shower curtain in second bathroom needs to be longer as water goes all over the floor beyond the shower.Great welcome pack of bread, egggs, bacon, butter, jams, sauces & a bottle of wine. Thank you so much.

Wine Region with the Dogs

This is a truly wonderful, rustic, spacious homestead on top a knoll with expansive views in all directions. Comfortable and well appointed, we were thrilled to take the canine members of our family along. Perfectly located, major wineries were close by and it's just a stone's throw to the town centre of Clare. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time at Clare View House with our children, who loved seeing the animals. A well stocked kitchen too which meant we did not need to buy or bring as many things as we had!

Breathtaking views

Had a wonderful experience. Fantastic views of the surrounds valley. Wood fire place and everything you would need is supplied. Some more storage area for food etc could be useful, and the bbq has bottle was empty. But overall hard to fault it. Would book again!

Beautiful location

This property is beautifully situated and has stunning views from every window. It's very private and quiet. We were able to take our dog, and the owner even supplied a comfy dog bed for him. We appreciated the various special touches - provisions for a cooked breakfast (including milk and juice), champagne, dog bowl, etc. The supply of firewood was limited, but there was enough for a fire each evening. There was no washer and dryer, even though it was listed on the amenities inclusions. We would have liked to explore the beautiful property, but there were sheep and alpacas in the paddocks (guests are asked not to enter into paddocks where there are alpacas) so we were unable to explore. Such a stunning property though, and we thoroughly enjoyed the views, the fireplace and the thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome. We'd stay there again.

Our group consisted of 3 generations who stayed at Clare View House to celebrate birthdays. The property was perfect to cater for all our needs and also allowed for our pampered pooch to join in the celebrations. Stunning views complemented our stay along with the special touches left by the hosts.

While the location was superb there were a great many disappointments from this booking.

Very poor attention to detail. At nearly $1000 a night for our group of 7 adults this was extremely disappointing. This property is only suitable for three couples with only three bedrooms. The decor was very poor with old furnishings that felt second hand and dirty. Interior decorating included plastic plants such as three plastic roses in a dirty vase in the bathroom. The high end magazines on the coffee table were dated from 2018 to 2020. The rug was filthy dirty. The towels were old and hard. The shower curtain was partially off the clips. A down light light fixture was hanging out of the ceiling. One of the beds has a wooden frame around it higher than the mattress, very uncomfortable. The house was infested with hundreds of millipedes every night coming straight under the doors with no insect guards or control. Generally this house was not clean enough and bows not match how it it priced and marketed. We had to contact the owner to get a key to access the laundry which was for staff only. General upkeep of the property was very poor. Very disgusted with having paid so much for what felt dirty and used.

Well thought out rental!

A nice easy process to rent a pet friendly house over Christmas. Everything you could want was already there which made our stay awesome. Communication in the lead up was perfect, hosts were very willing to help out where they could.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting, close to Clare Valley township. For the price would have expected a few more condiments for breakfast such as spreads for toast, jam, peanut butter, honey and perhaps a nicer loaf of bread than Wonder White! Also no English Breakfast tea, but plenty coffee pods and other breakfast provisions. Had read a review about not enough firewood, which we used in the first night, but had brought some ourselves which was mostly used. Nice touch with bubbles and chocolate on arrival. Would go back.

Very nice getaway in the country

My wife and I wanted a place a bit away from town but still close enough to easily drive in for dinner. This was the perfect location. An old, but updated country house on a hill with views in every direction. It was cool while we were there but the wood stove and electric blankets combined with the split system kept it cozy. We had friends drive up and visit us during one of the days and before going to dinner and they also commented on how nice the location is. It was a few minutes drive to our bicycle rental for an easy ride on the Shiraz bicycle trail. We would visit again.

Clare view House

The property was perfect for our family of two adults and two children and another family of one adult and one child. The children shared a room and had a great time and the adults had our own rooms. The property was perfect for our stay and quick access to Clare and the surrounding district.

Dog friendly winery stay perfection!

I stayed here with 5 friends for New Years in the Clare Valley with my dog too. It was a great location that was perfect for a group of friends, the house is spacious and comfortable.

Almost perfect stay.

Great location to stay when doing the wineries or looking for relaxation. However we had to leave one night early due to Covid 19 lockdown. Very disappointed we couldn't get a credit or refund on our final night . We had a lot of trouble trying to contact the owners.
