Excellent place to stay

We rented this place for an extended weekend with friends and family and it was a great choice. The place has enough room and social spaces for a large group (we had 9) to have different places to hang out and do different things. The view of the mountains was amazing and worth the drive. The house is about 20 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge so we had options for hiking, dining/shopping, or just staying at the house. The house style is unique and very fun. The property management was quick to answer any messages/questions we had leading up to our trip and during our stay. Like any house in the mountains, cell service is spotty until you get to the house on WiFi or on main highways so take that into account getting to and from the house.

***Roach infestation, mold everywhere in kitchen, filthy appliances and was not cleaned at all prior to our stay, slimy fridge/toilets/bathtubs etc - full details below***:The kitchen was truly repulsive - we were unable to prepare, store, or consume any food here. The dishes on the shelves appeared clean at first glance, but upon closer look we saw that they were actually wet between each one, harboring trapped water with a strong mildew odor. The dishwasher was severely infested with mold, resembling thick, wet black paint on every edge and in every crevice. When we opened the cabinet under the sink to retrieve an extra roll of paper towels, at least 15 very much alive German roaches scattered everywhere, as well as roaches in the dishwasher.By the end of the evening (considering that we checked in at 6 pm), we had observed countless variations of insects from roaches, stink bugs, ladybugs, spiders, you name it. They were present in all rooms, bathrooms, and even on the beds. The entire property was caked with dust and dirt, and mustard yellow stains around the toilets.We were forced to sleep with all lights on as a desperate attempt to not wake up to bugs on our actual bodies while we “slept”. The place is gross, posing as luxury but in reality is probably a health hazard. We left the first chance we got and have yet to be refunded. Do not book this scam of a place.
