His house was absolutely beautiful, and he greeted us upon our arrival to show us around the property. “If there were a gold medal for Vrbo hosts Francisco and Teresa would be overwhelming favorites. They set a standard we have never experienced in a lifetime of travel. Not only did they help us plan our itinerary they went so far as to meet us at the train station several times to make sure we were heading in the right direction. Their graciousness and hospitality will remain with us forever. And then the property itself. The restoration of a family property since 1680 was stunning. Magnificent……

“Everything was as advertised ,clean and functional. The host went out of her way to make sure that my experience was first class and it was. A big shout out to her neighbor who pitch hit for her When she hurt her leg. It’s very close to the train station maybe five minutes by car and it made the right into Douro very very easy.”

“This is an amazing house on an amazing property. The house is well appointed and spacious. The pool is enormous, and overlooks the river. We enjoyed watching the tour boats go up and down the river, and passing the goats and chickens on the road. The host has made it very comfortable. The only downside is it is an extremely twisty and steep road down to the house. But totally worth it for the serenity upon arrival.”

Quel plaisir de déjeuner , au soleil, sur le petit balcon !”

“We hebben een hele fijne week gehad in een comfortabel en sfeervol huis. Royaal verblijf op groot perceel grond, prachtige bosrijke en zeer rustige omgeving. Douro ligt ongeveer 500 meter lager, vanuit huis niet zichtbaar. Van zwembad geen gebruik gemaakt, omdat het een behoorlijk stuk afdalen en klimmen was. Dourovallei is prachtig. Veel moois in de omgeving te zien. Auto is een must.”

“It was a great location for our extended family. Miguel provided detailed ideas for areas to explore and we took advantage of a Duoro sunset river cruise that was stunning! The "kids" (11-25) engaged in a ferocious competition including foosball, ping pong and billiards. Swimming pool w salt water was refreshing (though slightly dirty), grounds with multiple fruit trees were fun to explore. AC was not functioning in one room and suboptimal in another, AC repair was unsuccessful, but fans were……

“Views are beautiful!!! My recommendation to property: fix the elevators. A lot of the elevator buttons don’t work. Saw multiple people confused about the elevator because some buttons don’t light up. One of my pillows had a yellow stain on it. It was clean but the stain was unpleasant. Discard it if bleach does not remove a stain. The service at breakfast could be improved upon. They were out of a lot of items. Also, there was a massive line to get coffee.
