Casa espaçosa, decorada com esmero, bem iluminada e plenamente equipada. Muito confortável no inverno. A lareira funciona bem, assim como os aquecimentos. O único aspecto menos positivo é a irregularidade da pressão da água nos duches, um problema partilhado em toda a aldeia. Comunicação com o proprietário e check-in excelentes. Altamente recomendada.

We stayed for three night and our goal was to relax, cook, enjoy the environment and go on walks with our dog, The home environment was terrific with an excellent equipped kitchen and many zones outside and inside to relax. The design of the house is beautiful and warm. The environment is great for walks, bike ride - mountain or hybrid bikes -and trip to hill side walled towns. Estremoz, 6 km away has excellent food shopping

O Monte dos Freixos deixa-nos esta agradável memória de nos termos sentido tão à vontade, confortáveis e sem saudades das comodidades das nossas casas próprias. Porque tinha tudo o que precisávamos para o dia a dia, dormimos sempre bem, com tudo muito limpo e organizado, além de ser muito acolhedora e estar decorada com excelente gosto. É uma casa real, com um exterior delicioso. O Sr. Carlos proporcionou-nos tudo de forma fácil e experiente, a quem agradecemos toda a atenção e amabilidade, além do mimo que nos deixaram à chegada. Foi tudo perfeito!

Vibrant, friendly village. Lovely house

Four of us and a dog have just spent a fortnight relaxing in this lovely house, full of charm. The pool was a good size and the water perfect ( the pool was maintained very discreetly- the man must have made visits about 6am!). The kitchen was extremely well-equipped, the TV worked well and had news channels in both Portuguese and English, the bathrooms were both lovely and the beds comfortable. My favourite spot was however under the vines, in one of the two hammocks, keeping cool on those hot, Alentejo afternoons. Every morning my friend and I went walking through the cork forests surrounding the pretty village of São Lourenço and would then stop for a coffee in the cafe just 200 metres or so from the house. We also ate here twice and the food was excellent. Much better than we would have imagined. The locals were friendly and helpful and the town of Estremoz only 5k away. I have no hesitations in recommending this holiday home. You will love it.

Wonderful, nicely decorated, quiet villa

We had a wonderful, relaxing week at the villa. Carlos the owner was very responsive to our emails, and Isilda and her husband were super helpful on site for the couple of things we needed at the beginning. The villa is tastefully decorated, with a well-equipped kitchen. There isn’t much to do in the immediate area, other than Evora (40 km away), which is definitely worth a visit, but the pool was nice and the weather was warm, so we were happy not to leave the villa much - that’s what we needed. The grape vines on the front porch pergola were in season, so fun to pick and eat. The neighbors were a bit closer than we were expecting, but the layout of the property makes it very private, and we didn’t hear anything but sheep baa-ing! Our only marginal complaint would be that we found the shower pressure and water temperature both a bit low. We would highly recommend this villa if you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet stay.

Wij hebben hier 2 hele leuke weken gehad. Het is een mooi en gezellig vakantiehuis en alles is aanwezig! De kinderen hebben genoten van het zwembad! Voor mensen die opzoek zijn naar een vakantiehuis in een rustige mooie omgeving is dit echt een aanrader.

This house is beautiful, it is impeccable. The greeting was lovely and we appreciated the cheese, the bread and the wine. The location is perfect and it is easily accessible. Our mails were always answered rapidly, the owners are always available. We will definitely return someday.

O Monte dos Freixos surpreendeu superou as expectativas : começando pelo fácil e afável contacto com os proprietários e pela excelente recepção ! A casa é espaçosa, acolhedora e reúne todas as condições necessárias. Os quartos são lindíssimos e confortáveis, e nota-se a especial atenção ao detalhe. A cozinha é muito bem equipada, com tudo aquilo necessário para o nosso conforto. Até as casas de banho merecem destaque, não só pela sua decoração, como também pelo conforto. A piscina e o jardim são para lá de maravilhosos, e foram aproveitados a 100%. Certamente voltarei para repetir a experiência, e recomendo-o vivamente!

Ruhe pur!

Wer es im Urlaub ruhig mag, kommt hier auf seine Kosten. Wir wollten es so. Und so haben wir es genossen, lange am Pool zu liegen, zu lesen und gemeinsam zu kochen. Apropos Kochen - die Küche wie schließlich auch das gesamt Haus sind sehr geschmackvoll eingericht. Lob an die Vermieterin. Als wir das erste Mal in die Einfahrt fuhren, ahnten wir nicht, dass das von vorne unscheinbar wirkende Haus innen so nett zurecht gemacht ist. Wir schätzten zunehmend die Kleinigkeiten. Die Hängematten, den "Sonnenschirm" aus Weinreben, den Grill. Alle zwei Tage kam früh am Morgen jemand, der den Pool reinigte. Auf Wunsch reinigt zudem jemand nach Wochenfrist das Haus von innen. In der Umgebung gibt nicht so viel zu "entdecken". Die Schönheit der Region liegt im Detail: Die geschwungenen Hügel hinter dem liebevoll wirkenden Dorf, mit zurückhaltenden und zugleich freundlichen Menschen, die wir auch auf dem Markt des netten, nahegelegenen Städtens Estremz trafen, die Schafherden auf den Feldern. Und dann der Wein. Er ist wirklich exzellent. Eine Rundfahrt zu den Weingütern der Umgebung empfiehlt sich. Wir haben uns zwei Wochen lang wohl gefühlt. Danke Elsa.

Villa bien équipée, confortable et bonne situation au coeur de l'Alentejo

Nous avons passé 6 jours dans cette agréable villa, située à moins de 10 minutes d'Estremoz. Une situation geographique ideale qui permet de rejoindre les principaux points d'intérêt à moins d' une heure de route. Accueil tres agréable de la part des propriétaires qui prennent le temps de bien expliquer le fonctionnement de la maison et les conseils de visites. La villa, joliment décorée, est bien équipée, et dispose de toutes les commodités bien utiles pour un sejour de plusieurs jours.

O Monte dos Freixos é um daqueles lugares em que nos sentimos bem acolhidos e em casa. Nota-se que tudo foi pensado com carinho e bom gosto. Tudo impecavelmente limpo e cuidado. Fomos muito bem recebidos e percebia-se a preocupação com o nosso bem estar. Estar à lareira é o máximo!... e toda a casa é muito ampla e muito gira. Ficou a faltar podermos usufruir da piscina e do espaço exterior, mas como estivemos no inverno isso foi impossível. Fica para a próxima pois de certeza que voltaremos na primavera ou no verão.

Charming Home - Lovely Region - Delightful Stay

We truly enjoyed our visit at Monte Freixos. The home is located in a small town quite close to Estramoz. We had spent two weeks traveling in other parts of Portugal and coming to the Estramoz area was a wonderful way to relax and truly enjoy the Alentejo region at the end of our stay. The home was beautiful, nicely decorated, comfortable and, very well appointed. It has a private backyard which we used and enjoyed. We shopped at the local market (Estramoz) and cooked every evening. We found the kitchen, BBQ area and dining area to have everything we would need. Elsa and Carlos were terrific hosts. They welcomed us and were always available and offered all the instructions we needed to get acclimated when we arrived. They also gave us additional pointers to vineyards, restaurants and towns to find local pottery (Redondo) and other things. I would return and would definitely recommend Monte Freixos to our friends and family.

Great place to stay!!

We loved the house. It was spacy, clean. You have a beautiful view on the countryside. Everything you need, and more is available. The kitchen is big with plenty of equipment. For us the WIFI was important. Well it worked beyond expectation. There is not much to do in the area. But who cares. Sit down, read a book and drink a glass of the local wine. Stroll around in that little town and drink coffee or crap a meal at Zézedas. More local is impossible. We did it every evening and became a bit local ourselves. Order your bread for the next morning here too. Estremoz is a nice little town at 5 km. The best supermarket is the first you see from the house. We will come back!!

Maravilhoso Alentejo

É sem dúvida o lugar ideal para quem gosta de contato com a natureza, de acordar com o canto dos pássaros e principalmente de sossego.Como alternativa pode se sair para passear conhecer e explorar. Fomos muito bem recebidos a casa é ótima, ao seu estilo rústico mas muito confortável e muito bem equipada, e a maravilhosa piscina para a diversão em família. É sem dúvida um local ideal para estar em família ou com amigos.

La maison idéale pour des vacances de rêve, au calme et en famille ...

La semaine est bien trop courte !!! Elsa et Carlos ont aménagé et décoré cette maison avec leur coeur. Tout est parfait, rien ne manque. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les apéritifs et repas pris sur la terrasse, à l'arrière, face au soleil couchant. La piscine a été apprécié de tous et nous n'avons pas hésité à faire plouf à tout heure...L' Alentejo est une région fabuleuse : des oliviers et des chênes lièges à perte de vue, des sites magnifiques, une cuisine gourmande et des gens authentiques. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Si vous souhaitez des vacances reposantes, apaisantes, charmantes, mais aussi culturelles, n'hésitez pas, arrêtez vous au MONTE DOS FREIXOS.

Lovely property in a friendly village.

We enjoyed a tranquil and relaxing 4 weeks at this property. It had everything we needed and was beautifully renovated. Elsa answered all our requests promptly and was very kind to help us organise horse riding lessons for our daughter (thank you). Estromez is a delightful town, very picturesque and with lots of great restaurants. Local wines are fabulous and great location for discovering the Alentejo. The local restaurant/café/bar/shop in the village (2 minutes walk from the house) is very good. Lots of supermarkets in Estromez (our favourite was Continente) and the Saturday morning market is essential. We loved this place!

Magnifique maison

Elsa et Carlos nous ont accueilli dans leur magnifique maison et nous ont même offert un vin et une pâtisserie de la région. Tout y était impeccable: équipement abondant, décoration exceptionnelle, propreté, . . . La situation est idéale pour visiter la région de l'Alentejo. Malheureusement, les pluies abondantes ne nous a pas permis de profiter de l'équipement extérieur. Avec cette mauvaise température, nous avons grandement apprécié les chauffages d'appoint. Merci à Elsa et Carlos et soyez assurés que nous recommanderons cette propriété à toute nos connaissances.

Escapadinha em Maio

Estive alojado com a família durante esta semana (3 dias) na propriedade Monte Freixos. Local simpático e acolhedor com tudo o que se possa querer para passar uns dias relaxados longe da cidade. Usufruimos da piscina, do barbecue e da cozinha equipada e claro está, dos três quartos confortáveis e duas casas de banho. Um local a aproveitar não só em dias mais quentes como também numa escapadinha de inverno.

A great place to relax

We loved the house. Very stylish, clean and well equipped. Elsa and Carlos met us when we arrived and showed us round the property, gave us some good restaurant recommendations and made us and our 18 month old son feel very welcome. Enjoyed sitting outside, swimming in the pool, cooking on the bbq and enjoying the excellent local wine. A great place to relax.
