Girls Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was the perfect little meet up spot for a weekend away with my bestie from the Dallas area. The area is beautiful and the two restaurants nearby made the weekend easy and relaxing. The loft beds are really best for children (I’m small so could do it for a night) but otherwise everything was amazing!

Good spot for small family

We wanted to enjoy a weekend in Carlton Landing and all it has to offer without overspending for a two-night lake getaway. This guest house was small, but just right for what we needed. There’s no oven/stove unit but they have an electric stove top appliance that allowed us to cook breakfast on. Short walk to the pool, food trucks, beach and other spots. The ladder was steep (as expected), but our 4 and 8 year old boys did okay with it.

Nice little place for two.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we were very happy with this place. The BBQ Grill was out of propane, I called the number they gave me and they came within 15 minutes with a new tank. The bed is indeed a little stiff but we managed OK. There were issues with the sink in the bathroom and the door handle there too. The tub drains very slow. I also would like to have more than one bathroom hand towel for a 4 night stay. Overall, this is a great place in a great community.

Great place for a getaway!

We loved our stay! This property was perfect for the two of us and we loved the proximity to pools, coffee shop and other amenities.

Great weekend place.

Very small but great place. Would have been nice to have sat outside but the patio and yard were unsuitable. Wasn’t really sure where to park and just crossed our fingers as to where since there wasn’t access to the garage area.

Cute but dirty

Property was perfect for a couple, but we had four people and the ladder to the loft is scary! We found the property to be dirty and in need of maintenance. Community is neat, but we expected more out of the rental for over 300$ a night!

Wonderful stay at Carlton Landing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Upper Room Flat. It was perfect for my husband and me. Great location, quiet, very clean, and the condo had everything that we needed. All amenities on the property are close by. Carlton Landing is a first-class community, and we look forward to watching it grow. The only suggestion would be to expand the marina to add boat rentals and more slips since the lake is the main attraction.

Perfectly cozy

Weekend getaway with my wife was great in this cozy loft. Got a little confused though when we didn’t see an oven or stovetop. But a little bit of investigation solved the problem! 😉 We will be back.

Cozy On The Inside

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay at Carlton Landing. The inside of our place was nice and clean and cozy. The biggest downfall was that our balcony floor was pretty rotten in a few places, plus the cushions could have used a little attention prior to our visit...same for the outside fire pit/table area. Another set of towels and rags would have been appreciated for our three night stay too. We loved driving around this adorable town on our rented golf cart. Would have loved to buy a souvenir but the Meeting House wasn’t open the days we were there. The app could use a little revamping as some things were up to date. Overall, we enjoyed our trip.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the experience of Carlton Landings. We had a great time with our fishing guide and the kayaks. Our rental was cute but could use some TLC. Wasp nests and ants out on the porch and when we opened the blinds lots of small dead bugs fell out. Also a dead cockroach in the bedroom and a pile of raisins under the nightstand in the loft. These things didn’t ruin our trip but during a pandemic I was hoping for an extremely clean stay. We will 100% go back to Carlton Landings but we will be looming for a different place to stay.

Reviewer Comments: My husband and I were looking forward to our anniversary getaway at Carlton Landing. When we arrived, the community of houses was really cute and our rental was nice and very clean. We climbed up the steep ladder to the loft just to see it. While cozy, I would have to warn anyone with children that it could present a danger to kids who sleepwalk or get up in the night forgetting where they are as it is about 12 feet off the main floor. The bed in the master is very firm and squeaks with the slightest movement. We didn't sleep well at all. We were told by property management to download a hospitality app so we could check out all the amenities available. Perhaps this should have been a foreshadowing of what the "resort" had to offer; none of the links would ever load. We are active people and love to have things to do. We walked to the beach area which was not much - a small stretch of barely any sand and the water wasn't inviting to wade into, very uncomfortable for the feet. The lake view is only of a small cove, not really the lake. We were excited about kayaking but found out they only opened up for rental on the weekends (at a min of $30). There is not a general store on the property and all of the restaurants and food trucks were closed as they, also, only open on the weekends. The nature trails were a very short jaunt and we were disappointed that they didn't lead us near the lake. We did not have a code to get into the fitness center. We had to call to get the codes for the pools. I feel this information should be left for guests in the rental and not left up to the guests to figure out. Also, there are no beach towels in the rental and none in the pool area. We had to use our bath towels. We made the 20 minute trek to the town of Eufala several times for food. Eufala is very small and limited on choices. Many of the restaurants only open on the weekends or have limited hours of operation. To sum it all up, we lef

Too many issues for the price

Reviewer Comments: We rented the garage apartment for a long weekend and really enjoyed or stay at Carlton Landing, but we won’t be coming back to this rental. When we first arrive we immediate noticed that the place wasn’t very clean. There were crumbs on the floor and dust on the table. The outdoor furniture cushions look like they had been left on all season so there was dirt, mold, rust and bird poop all over them. This was the biggest shame because being a part of the community means hanging around outside of your place meeting people, which we were unable to do. Plus the garage apartment is alley based so when you are on your porch, you’re hanging out behind and above everything. The bathtub was clogged but they were able to fix it withi. 24 hours. The maintenance man wore his muddy boots throughout the place and left a dirt behind in the tub as well once he fixed the issue. The internet is super slow, almost dial up speed, 1MB/s verified by Speedtest. This makes watching Netflix or Prime Video a chore of patience.

Do not stay here!!!

Worst experience I’ve ever had! I had the wrong house and had no clue. I called because my door code wouldn’t work. Instead of the manager meeting me she gave me another code to use which worked. After unpacking our stuff I realized there was a lot of things that didn’t seem right. No fire pit, no grill, no cooking utensils so I call back. She then asks me to send her a picture. I do and she goes on to tell me I have the wrong house. We had a lot of stuff because we had planned on cooking the entire time we would be there to make things more cost effective. I had to move everything up a very steep flight of stairs ALONE because my mom is elderly and my children are small. She offered to let us stay in the wrong house but we’d be left without any cooking utensils, a community fire pit and community grill which wasn’t specified in the add. I asked if we could move the next day and she said the renters won’t rent for a single day. It has to be two days or more. I ended up moving us to the original house we rented but it was awful! I spent our entire first day moving our stuff. The kids were starving and my 67 year old moms back was hurting from the steep stairs. I’ve stayed at a lot of cabins and always return. I always give credit where credit is due with great reviews but we will not be suggesting this place to anyone.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved Carlton Landing and the Upper Room Flat! We went for a quick getaway and are a family of six. Great location close to the pool, hot tub, bocce ball, ping pong, volleyball and the lakefront. We also loved the fire pit in the back yard! I do wish the balcony at The Flat was accessible, but it was locked up. The only thing I was disappointed about was the kayaks were not in service. That was disappointing. Every was neat clean and adorable!!! We definitely hope to make our wake back very soon!!! Blessings!!
