“Beautiful location for this really special place to stay. We had two night here. Although we didn’t have great weather, it hardly altered as the hotel has lots of cosy places to sit and look out on the truly stunning gardens. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Thank you to whoever found my husbands watch and called us so we were not too far away to come back for it! Another highlight is the hotel’s own soap products which smell amazing and are available to buy. Sadly they had run out……

“Darren at reception was really lovely, the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very lovely and accommodating. The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help.”

“We only stayed one night. Family of 4 in a family garden room. Lovely room! Huge!! Could do with being updated but it will not stop us booking again. The only thing that stuck out was breakfast, I had a decafe tea and my husband had pot of coffee. It wasn’t very nice at all (I feel it was the cheaper tea bags and coffee?) The cooked breakfast was delicious and the waiting staff very helpful. Maybe some more pastries on offer would be amazing!! We enjoyed our one night very much. Thank you ”
