A guesthouse with two holiday apartments in a village on the Algarve
Relax in Portuguese style. This guesthouse with its special view over the Faro bay is on a mountain, just above the Portuguese village of Santa Barbara de Nexe. The Algarve is literally right at your feet. Stays in winter are also pleasant. The apartments are in the interior courtyard of a traditional Portuguese house from the year 1911, which has been completely restored, preserving details such as a well, a traditional oven and flooring. It is an oasis of tranquillity in a Portuguese style, with the qualities of village life.
The two holiday apartments are in the interior courtyard of the main house. Each has a bedroom with a double bed (140 x 190cm), and a living room with a sofa bed (140 x 200cm) for two people, so each apartment is suitable for a maximum of four people. The apartments also have a kitchen and a bathroom. The owners themselves live in the main house.
Each apartment has its own terrace with garden furniture. The roof terrace is on the main house and it is for shared use. You can get to the roof terrace up stairs from the interior courtyard, which is in the centre of all the apartments. You can park your car about 10 metres from the house.
You can use an Internet connection free of charge during your stay, which is also available outdoors. A laptop and printer in the hallway of the main house can be used on request. A cot and a highchair can be provided on request, for a small fee.
A baker comes past in the mornings and brings fresh bread, and at midday a fishmonger comes past with fresh fish for the grill, if you like. If you like the hustle and bustle of town, you can get to the town centre of Faro within about 12 minutes, or the beach. You can go shopping in Faro and visit cafés and restaurants.
From here you can enjoy a special view of the Faro bay, which is why this holiday accommodation is an excellent base for exploring the Algarve.
A Portuguese-style oasis of peace with the qualities of village life. In the village of Aldeia, 1 km above Santa Barbara de Nexe where you can find a supermarket and restaurants, you are just out of the crowds but still close to everything. Here the fishmonger still comes by with fresh fish for e.g. the BBQ.
If you want to get out and about, Faro is just a 12-minute drive away. With a range of restaurants, cafés and a beautiful beach, Faro gives a great insight into what the Algarve has to offer. Away from the hustle and bustle of Faro, you can find a range of beautiful beaches accessible by boat. A little further away, you can also find the most beautiful rocky beaches in Europe. Local produce is everywhere at a number of markets where you can buy all the local delicacies such as cheese, olives, honey and fresh fruit.
As we have no playground, lots of pots and plants, many breakable accessories and no other facilities, we do not accept children from 2 to 13 years old.
For babies up to one year, we do have facilities such as a cot with mattress and a high chair. A baby is counted as an extra person with us.
