Welcome to a Cliffside escape at Leatherwood Mountains

Cliffside is a private mountain cabin located in the gated Leatherwood Mountains Resort, offering beautiful long-range Blue Ridge Mountain views and a peaceful setting for couples, small families, or guests traveling with a dog. The cabin combines comfort, privacy, and easy access to outdoor adventure in North Carolina’s High Country.

Enjoy the mountain scenery from the spacious deck, relax in the private hot tub, or unwind by the stone gas fireplace inside. Paved road access allows for easy year-round arrival.

The cabin features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The upper-level primary suite includes a king bed, double vanity, walk-in shower, and a two-person whirlpool tub. The main-level guest bedroom offers a queen bed with mountain views. A fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and comfortable living space provide everything needed for a relaxing stay.

Located within Leatherwood Mountains Resort, guests have access to miles of trails, horseback riding, fishing, tubing, and an on-site restaurant when open. Cliffside Escape is approximately 30 minutes from Boone and Blowing Rock and offers easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Important Information:

Check-in after 4:00 PM, check-out before 11:00 AM. Minimum rental age is 25. No smoking, events, or large gatherings. Verbal confirmation by phone is required for reservations made within 24 hours of arrival.

Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

Amazing cabin

This is our second time staying at a cabin in Saddlewood, but the first time at Cliffside. The cabin was amazing, comfy, and sized perfectly for us. We would definitely book again whenever we go back to Boone/Ferguson.

Great place to relax with a beautiful view!

Great location on the mountain. Relaxing in the jacuzzi while taking in the view was amazing. The cabin was adorable, clean, and cozy. The hiking trails were close by with multiple paths to explore. This is truly a great place to unwind!

Relaxing Getaway

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend to escape the city and it’s just what we were looking for! The views at this cabin are perfect for sipping a cup of coffee in the morning. The cabin is in the best neighborhood that feels secure and has lots of amenities for the family!

Highly Disappointing - description does not match at all! Pay more, go else where.

Our stay at Cliffside was truly not what we anticipated. We booked two nights with plans to stay in and relax while enjoying the described amenities; however, what we received for the money spent was nothing that was described in the posting. 1) The entire cabin has a distinct smell of urine (specifically upstairs bedroom and bathroom) and was otherwise unclean. 2) The throw blankets had dried food stuck to it (grains of rice). 3) The indoor gas fireplace did not work. 4) The ad lists complimentary gourmet coffee and a bottle of wine. There was neither of these included. 5) There was only 1 clean towel for the hot tub available, and the hot tub was visibly dirty (with several broken pieces). 6) The Roku tv in the main living room did not work properly. It kept turning off after 60 secs. We finally had to stream it from our phones. 7) Both beds were terribly uncomfortable. I have stayed in sever VRBOs over the last 5 years and this was by far the most disappointing rental property I’ve experienced. Otherwise, the property was very quiet and private.

Peaceful & relaxing

This was a very quiet cabin in the mountains! This property is about 16 miles north east of Wilksboro. Keep in mind if you need anything from a store you will have to go back to Wilksboro which will take you about 40 minutes from the cabin. The cabin was clean, the views were amazing and it was quiet. The bed in the master was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on away from home! The hot tub was great and the road to the cabin was accessible with our SVU. We will definitely be back! But next time I will bring a few cleaning supplies as the cabin didn’t have any and we did have the stomach bug while we were there (which I’m sure we brought with us from family gatherings over Christmas from great nephews and niece). Overall it was great to sit on the back porch as it was warm (60-70’s).

Gorgeous Views

Such a beautiful view and cozy cabin. All the comforts of home with spectacular views of the mountains. The area had lots of trails and everyone was so friendly. It was truly a wonderful week spent in the mountains. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Early Spring Getaway

Property was as advertised. Two huge bedrooms with comfortable living room and full size kitchen. Beautiful view of the mountains but not of the neighbors. Spacious deck with full size hot tub with view of the mountains. Exceptionally clean and full size well stocked kitchen. New grill that works like a charm. ****Recommendation to anyone staying at this property. Follow the directions provided by the hosts and do not follow your navigational system. We followed the host directions to the property with no problems. We decided to follow the navigation system for our trip to Blowing Rock, you know because it would be fun driving through the mountains. Bad mistake. Ended up on a single lane wet dirt road that was on the side of a mountain with no trees to stop us if we slid off the road. Multiple 180 degree switch backs around blind curves. Longest three miles of our lives. Took us over a half hour to go three miles. Luckily we had a 4-wheel drive truck or we would still be on that road. Otherwise a very relaxing few days.

Hot tub getaway

Getting to the area was a little tricky in rain and fog at night, there is no state road sign to the Leatherwood community. The property was sweet, and they even left 2 buck chuck and fresh oranges upon our arrival. The view is apparently one of the best on the mountain. It was a much needed respite for us!
